The Glenelly Inn was built during the era of Jack London, to serve area visitors arriving by rail. The French colonial style main inn building with verandas that wrap around, and the stick-style owner's cottage, evoke an old-world feel, a step back in time. Set into a hillside with native madrone and manzanita, and a lovely view of Sonoma Mountain, the large flagstone patio under the grandfather oak trees invite relaxation and bird watching. Each room or cottage opens onto a veranda or private patio with sitting area. The extensive garden features an old cypress tree transplanted from San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, mature fruit trees including fig, apple, pear and pomegranates, a beautiful rose garden, and other lush fragrant plantings and masses of spring-time bulbs. The rooms at the Inn are casual, country comfortable in style with a European feel to them, while the Garden Cottages offer a more up-scale decor. Guests can experience a spa treatment in their room or in the garden and then slip into something comfortable - like Glenelly Inn's garden hot tub surrounded by roses and the scent of lavender and jasmine! Whether it is sipping a bubbly beverage under the 200-year-old oak tree, from the swing, hammock or picnic tables; or soaking in bubbles in one of the big old-fashioned claw foot tubs in the guestrooms or whirlpool tub in the cottages; or luxuriating in the bubbles of the in-ground Jacuzzi, guests will renew and relax at the Glenelly Inn & Cottages.

According to this innkeeper, one of the most important aspects of any bed & breakfast inn is the BEDS. The Glenelly Inn & Cottages is known for their firm mattresses, reading lights on both sides, lovely linens, Norwegian down comforters and no less than six pillows (eight, if you count the ones with the shams)! Many of guests have commented that they have a hard time getting out of bed in time for breakfast! All rooms have a private bath, most with old-fashioned claw foot tubs with showers.
Additional amenities include free wireless Internet access, gift baskets, fruit and cheese platters, and fresh bouquets with truffles and sparkling wine for those special occasions. The accommodations at the Glenelly Inn & Cottages offer something for every taste and price range, as well as flexibility for famililies. The Glenelly Inn & Cottages is one of the few lodging facilities in the Wine Country that is receptive to families. Each child receives a gift bag with age appropriate toys at check-in, and the inn offers a special kid friendly breakfast menu from which they can make choices. (More)

2 - 2- 2 Glenelly Inn & Cottages A Tradition of Innkeeping Built in 1916 by the Larigne family, the Inn was originally known as the "Rocky Terrace Resort." Kristi Hallamore Jeppesen and her mother, Ingrid Loype Hallamore, purchased the Glenelly in 1990. Ingrid, born and raised in Gausdal, Norway, discovered San Francisco when a hotel managment exchange program brought her to the United States. Her first job was at the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill. Kristi, born and raised in San Francisco, recognized her desire to work in the hospitality industry after attending a culinary academy in Norway. She left a career in the title and escrow business to continue the fine tradition of innkeeping that was started in 1916.
