   Sudbury Hall is the first of the Family Friendly screenings as part of ‘Summer Nights’
   outdoor film screenings, presented by QUAD in association with Flint Bishop, in 2012


Sudbury Hall And The Museum Of Childhood will be the venue for the first of a selection of
Family Friendly screenings as part of the Summer Nights film Festival. The Adventures of Tintin

(PG) screens at Sudbury Hall on Friday 11 May, doors open from 6:30pm.


Directed by Steven Spielberg, The Adventures of Tintin is a whirlwind trip through the world of
Hergé's Tintin, with Captain Haddock, The Thompson Twins and, of course, the ever faithful
Snowy! Featuring the voices of Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig and Simon Pegg, Tintin has proved a hit
with young and old alike.


Sudbury Hall and The Museum Of Childhood will also hold a screening of Jane Eyre (PG) on

Saturday 12 May from 6:30pm. Filmed on location in the Peak District, Jane Eyre stars Michael
Fassbinder as Mr Rochester and Mia Wasikowska as Jane Eyre. Jane begins her adult life as a
governess at Thornfield Hall, living happily in her new position, but as she spends more time with
Mr Rochester, she finds herself falling in love with the cold and abrupt master of the house. But
will Rochester's dark secret crush her dreams of happiness? Featuring Judi Dench, Jamie Bell
and Sally Hawkins; this is one of the best adaptations of Charlotte Bronte's novel yet.


Sudbury Hall is the home of prize winning The Museum Of Childhood. The Museum Of Childhood
offers the chance to experience first-hand the realities of life for children employed through the
ages, uncover what life was like for children working in domestic service or as part of a family in
World War II. As well as displays of dolls houses, board games, puppets and book collections,
The Museum Of Childhood offers the chance to experience a Victorian school room, or visit a
Victorian street to play jacks and marbles.


QUAD’s Summer Nights Outdoor Film Festival screenings, presented in association with Flint
Bishop will take place over the summer months offering a chance to enjoy the great outdoors for
a unique cinematic experience. The programme include family features, classic and
contemporary films in locations across Derbyshire, all presented on a giant screen by QUAD,
Derby's centre for art and film.


Ten locations across Derbyshire will host the screenings, including historic homes and National
Trust properties: Elvaston Castle, Sudbury Hall, Renishaw Hall, Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and
Hardwick Hall. Other venues are; Rosliston Forestry Centre, Queen's Park in Chesterfield and

The Pavilion, Rolls-Royce Leisure in Derby; as well as The Lime Kiln, Wirksworth, which will hold
screenings as part of the annual Wirksworth Festival.

Tickets for Summer Nights Film Festival are £12 per person. ‘Earlybird’ tickets priced at just
£10.50 are also available if purchased up to six weeks before each of the screenings. A group
discount for families or groups of four people or more can buy their tickets at the discounted
‘Earlybird’ rate of £10.50 any time before the screening.Tickets for children aged under five years
are free.
