• The organisations within the private real estate side increases in numbers and membership. The Landscape Contractors Association organizes a smaller part of the real number of contractors within in the field of propertyservice and landscape maintenance. Many smaller contractors are only organized in a employers Association of the actual industry. The Facility Management companies increases rapidly both within the private and housing cooperative businesses. The Association of City Gardeners/Parkauthority managers are most often found on the purchasing-ordering side in the city administrations while technical departments takes care of the executing side , if the maintenance is not given out on contracts externally. More and more municipalities are using contractors for installation works and also for maintenance, a substantial increase has been seen since 2000. Mostly the contracts are 1 or 3 year in length and many contractors are actually large landscaping firms or facility management companies.

•In Danmark there was a tax deductible right to so called homeservices , which made the cleaning/property maintenance businesses strong. •Something like the Farmer Service Ltd that is clearly visible in Sweden and Norway, does not exist yet in Denmark. •Public housing agencys are strong in Denmark as well as is the case in Sweden. •ISS Facility Services has in Denmark two companies of their within landscape contracting, both have increased their turnover quickly.. •The danish landscape contractors are much stronger as an organization compared to their counterparts in the other nordic countries. • The french green care market is most interesting, both due to the fact that it is dynamic in way of development and due to the working time reform 1/1 2002 which makes it necessary to increase mechanization. 35 hours working week plus 4 extra hours for 10% extra means clearly higher costs for employers • ISS grows quickly in France, especially within greencare. 2000 employees within this field and 18% of the turnover. • Many contractors do not belong to UNEP, just to an employers organization like Capeb and or CNATP. • City gardeners are a very active association. In France still a lot of the public greencare are maintained publicly, and not yet privatized.

•Organizations for city gardeners and cemetery managers are found within the municipality association, Städtebund. •In austria the Bundesinnung-Gärtner und Floristen, is an org. with landscapers, florists, garden-centers etc., which is member of ELCA. The Organization also seems to be found under the name GaLabau-verband, which also refers to ELCA. Probably the same association under two names •Public housing and cooperative housing is of great importance in austria, long tradition, since after the war. •Can not find any organization for gebäudereinigung but some of these companies are big, like f example Neue Raumpflege. Facility Management grows rapidly due to the structure with large public housing sector and increasing privatization of maintenance.

Assoverde has f example almost doubled its members the last years. • Irrigation sells well, new landscaping is increasing, intensive surfaces grows. • There is a debate about the public greencare and its management.The discussion is not only focused on price but also quality and methods, and impact on environment. • Facility Management develops also in Italy but leading in the business are the contractors of Assoverde and the many small contractors who has greencare as just a part of their services.
