LATE ENTRIES. Double entry fees will be charged for all entries submitted online or postmarked July 2 - July 8. No entries will be accepted after July 8. Entries in this department are limited to living residents of Iowa. Exhibitors are limited to one entry in each class. Articles may not have been exhibited in this department before. Exhibit categories are based on needlework techniques used. Please check each listing to assure the entry fits the categories listed. If it does not fit the categories listed, the entry will not be accepted.

All articles entered in this department must be strictly the work of the exhibitor.
10. Entry tags will be mailed to you to be completed and placed on articles by you before shipment or delivery. 11. Please complete both sides of the entry tag and secure to item with safety pin at least one inch in length. Exhibits will not be judged or displayed if tags are attached in any other manner. 12. The department will be open Saturday, August 1 for receipt of articles. Please use southeast entrance, parking is available on the south side of the building. Contact superintendent if you need other arrangements. 13. Articles entered may be sent by mail or UPS to: Iowa State Fair, Fabric and Threads Department, Administration Building, East 30th Street and University Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317. Articles must be received by 4:00 p.m. on July 30. In no case will packages be received and articles placed on exhibition, unless all charges are prepaid. 14. Articles with entry tags attached using safety pins and clothing on plain wire hangers must be in place by 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 1, or they will not be judged. Please do not tie the tags to the exhibit. Please have some means of keeping all parts of an exhibit together. 15. Exhibits that are soiled, covered in pet hair or emitting an unpleasant odor will not be judged or displayed. 16. Any premium may be withheld at the discretion of the judge. 17. Fabric & Threads will be open ONLY Monday, August 24 from noon to 6:00 p.m. for return of exhibits. Arrangements to return exhibits by mail need to be made if entries cannot be picked up on August 24. Postage for items to be mailed needs to be sent to Dorothy Faidley before August 16, 2009 so that exhibits can be prepared for mailing in a timely manner.

RULES Blocks entered will become property of the Iowa State Fair. Each class is limited to 50 participants. Contestants must enter specifically for each class and pay a fee of $5 per class.
