The IGCA is a staple for the visual arts community in Alaska, providing one of the only alternative spaces for visual artists in Anchorage (and in the state). The IGCA is one of the longest-running non-profit visual arts organizations in Alaska. It is known for representing and supporting a wide range or works, experimental works, artistic freedom of expression and for simply providing artists with opportunities to create new work. The IGCA exists to encourage artists. It has a focus on experimentation and quality. As one of the organizations to establish and anchor the First Friday art walk tradition, the IGCA has offered a home for artists not only to exhibit their work, but also to talk about it and to share ideas between artists and between artists and the viewing public. The IGCA become an important vehicle for building the arts community. The IGCA sustains a strong mix of opportunities for Alaskan artists and artists from outside the community to exhibit their work and share their expertise. The IGCA enjoys a statewide reputation as one of the only institutions bringing in visual artists from outside Alaska. The IGCA features monthly exhibitions, events and workshops. It endeavors to accept only new work. The IGCA, in the last year, hosted more than 50 exhibitions. The IGCA rents studio spaces to working artists, offers a variety of exhibition and performance opportunities and offers its space to other art organizations that struggle without one. The IGCA has also been instrumental in sponsoring a number of publications and research on contemporary Alaskan art. PLEASE FILL OUT THE ABOVE FORM, DETACH AND MAIL TO THE INTERNATIONAL GALLERY. Please remember to fill in your mailing and email addresses. Many of our announcements will now be sent out visa e-cards to save trees and money.
THANK YOU. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO CONTINUE OUR EXHIBITIONS AND PROGRAMS.
