BUSINESS BREAKFAST – Our next Business Breakfast will be held at Reddeman Farms Golf
Club & Restaurant at 555 W. Dancer Rd., Chelsea on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 7:30 a.m.
to 9:00 a.m. This is a more formal networking event. You will have a chance to introduce
yourself and your business. Members $12.00 Reserved, $15.00 at the door. Non-members

CHELSEA UNLIMITED 2010 – Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Chelsea Unlimited is a community focused expo of Chelsea area non-profit organizations,
businesses and home businesses held at the Washington Street Education Center. This
community event is a fundraiser and service of the Chelsea Senior Center. For more

SPRING WINE SHOW – at The Common Grill on Mon. April 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. Sample over 80
wines as you indulge in a vast array of tantalizing appetizers. Proceeds to benefit Sounds &
Sights on Thursday Nights. Space is limited $ 50.00 available at The Common Grill. Wines for
sale that evening by the bottle or the case.
CHELSEA DISTRICT LIBRARY – Did you know that Chelsea is the setting for a spy novel?
Join us for a free author visit by husband and wife Christian fiction authors, Diane and
David Munson. The Munsons will be visiting the Library on Sat. May 1st at 1:00 p.m. to
discuss their new book, Hero’s Ransom. It is a story of suspense that combines espionage,
international intrigue and faith – and the setting is right here in Chelsea. The Munsons
will read from their book and discuss how Chelsea became a setting for the latest in their
series of inspirational thrillers. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.
Both authors come from fast-paced careers in the justice system. Diane spent 25 years
as an attorney. David spent 27 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Dept. of Defense,
Treasury, and Justice, concluding with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Center and Transition Town Chelsea for a dessert potluck and earth film presentation. Earth
Awards will also be presented. LIVING LIGHTLY: EATING LOCAL, THE 100 MILE DIET
Saturday, April 17, 10am-12pm $15 - Please register by April 14th Learn to eat local food to
celebrate and honor Earth Day. Eating locally cuts down on fossil fuel consumption, and you get

CHELSEA AREA PLAYERS YOUTH THEATER presents Disney’s Musical Alice in
Wonderland, Jr. at Beach Middle School on April 16 & 17 at 7:00 p.m., April 17 & 18 at 2:00
p.m. Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at 12:30 p.m. on April 17. Seats limited for the tea party so

YOUTH DANCE THEATRE OF MICHIGAN (YDT) presents the Sleeping Beauty ballet April
24th at 7pm and April 25 at 2pm. Choreographed by YDT’s Artistic Director, Wendi DuBois and
set on the cast of YDT dancers, Sleeping Beauty is a timeless fairy tale ballet where good
triumphs over evil. A special Tea at the Palace event with festive music, cast visits and
delicious treats and beverages will be held at 1pm on April 25th. A keepsake photo for each
child is included in the Tea. Tickets for the Ballet and the Tea are on sale now at Sleeping Beauty ballet tickets are $15/adult and $10/student
(through college age). Tea at the Palace tickets are $10 per person. Performances are in the
Chelsea High School Auditorium 740 N Freer Rd Chelsea MI. The Tea is in the Commons area
and will finish in time to be seated for the show.
21st ANNUAL HEART and SOLE “Race for Grace” – Saturday, May 15. CCH is hosting this
event. Run, walk and now BIKE with 2010 proceeds to benefit the Chelsea Grace Clinic.
Participants can register NOW for this fun community event. For information (being updated

Friday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Chelsea High School Auditorium “James Dapogny’s Jazz
Band”. Fun for the whole family! Acclaimed bandleader and jazz pianist James Dapogny
brings his red hot jazz band to Chelsea in a scholarship fundraiser concert for CCA. Opening for
Dapogny will be the CHS Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Rick Catherman. Tickets are
$7.50 students/seniors; $10 individual; $25 family—advance ticket sales at CCA and tickets will
be sold at the door.
Saturday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chelsea District Library, McKune Room
“Jazz for Kids”. Enjoy free jazz classes and performances, for and by kids.
Saturday, April 10 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. “Jazz & Chocolates at the Chelsea Depot”
CCA’s advanced voice and guitar students join instructors Lisa Hinz-Johnson and Alex Anest in
an “evening full of hot and cool jazz with all the decadent chocolate treats you can eat. Included
in the evening are performances by the Michigan Pops Choir and the vocal trio White Chocolate.
There will be a raffle and silent auction later in the evening, with all proceeds from the event
going toward the CCA tuition and scholarship assistance fund. Limited tickets avail.—Suggested

 SANDHILL CRANE WINERY Michigan Wine Celebration Saturday, April 17 & Sunday,
April 18 Celebrate Michigan Wine Month at the SE Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail's "Michigan
Wine Celebration" on Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18! Tickets are $25 per person for
this self-driven tour of the wineries of southeast Michigan. Each winery along the trail will
feature an appetizer or dessert prepared by a local chef and paired with their featured wine.
The ticket price also includes a souvenir tasting glass. A recipe card with the featured recipe

SILVER MAPLES OF CHELSEA Free Kaleidoscope Concerts Continue with The Dodworth
Saxhorn Bank who will share the rich musical heritage and excitement of the mid-nineteenth
century as part of the Kaleidoscope Concert series on Tuesday, April 20, at 7 p.m. at Silver
Maples of Chelsea. The Dodworth Saxhorn Band presents an authentic recreation of one of
America's first all-brass bands. The original Dodworth Band dominated the New York music
scene from 1836 to 1891, performing in concerts, at balls, at social events, at political rallies,
and in many U.S. presidential inaugurations. Silver Maples is offering door-to-door
transportation for seniors who live in Chelsea. To make a reservation, call Silver Maples at (734)
475-4111 by April 12. The concerts are presented by Silver Maples and the Chelsea Senior
Center and held at Silver Maples of Chelsea, 100 Silver Maples Dr. . Free tickets for seniors are

VOLUNTEERS – We are looking for volunteers to work in the Chelsea Chamber office as a back
up to our current work force. This would entail answering phones, greeting visitors, etc. Please
