PENAMBAHAN KALSIUM DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DEEPING DALAM
MENUNJANG KEBERHASILAN MOLTING LOBSTER AIR TAWAR (Cherax

This research took-place in Fishery Indoor Laboratory of Breeding-Fishery Faculty of
Muhammadiyah University of Malang, start on February to April 2008. The research purpose is
to test the effect of calcium addition using deeping method in supporting the fresh-water lobster
(Cherax quadricarinatus) moulting success.
The used method is experimental method and its research design is Complete Random Design
(RAL) using 4 treatments: treatment of A (0 ppm), B (2,5 ppm), C (5 ppm), and D (7.5 ppm). If
the F-test has real or very real differences, it is continued by the Smallest Real Difference (BNT)
The research result shows that calcium addition has no effect on fresh-water lobster (Cherax
quadricarinatus) moulting success. It has no effect on fresh-water lobster?s growth and survival
rate. It also has no effect on specific growth rate of fresh-water lobster.
From the research result, it can be concluded that calcium addition using deeping method has no
effect on the fresh-water lobster (Cherax quadricarinatus) molting success.
