Support 4-H in Knox and Lincoln Counties by ordering your 2011 Knox-Lincoln 4-H Calendar!
The Knox-Lincoln 4-H Leaders’ Association (KLLA) would like to announce the availability of the 2011 Knox-Lincoln 4-H
Calendar. All photographs in the calendar were taken by youth members in our two counties, many of whom attend school in
our district!
Pre-paid orders for the calendars are being taken through Friday, November 19 and the calendars will be available for
holiday giving. The cost is $12.00 per calendar to ship directly to your home, or $10.00 each if purchasing from a 4-H
member who is willing to deliver it to you. All proceeds from the sale will benefit 4-H in Knox and Lincoln Counties.
The calendar is the result of the first-annual KLLA-sponsored photography contest, open to 4-H members age 9-19.
Twelve photos were chosen by a panel of professionals in the photography, art and graphic design fields to be featured in
the calendar. Judges and leaders are very impressed with the quality of the children’s work. The leaders plan to offer a
photography workshop for 4-H youth in the coming months to encourage and refine the creativity shown by our members.
4-H is the youth development education program of University of Maine Cooperative Extension. 4-H participants range
from ages 5 to 19 and, traditionally, organize themselves into 4-H clubs to support each other as they take on "learn-by-
doing" projects. 4-H teaches young people skills necessary for success in life.
To order your calendars, contact a Knox-Lincoln 4-H member, or Cindy Rogers at Knox-Lincoln Cooperative Extension
207-832-0343, 800-244-2104 (toll-free in Maine), Make checks payable to KLLA.
