A note from the teacher…
What a frosty week it has been; just in case we needed a reminder that this
is January in Alberta! The extreme cold, sadly, forced us to cancel our Ice
on Whyte Festival field trip.
We have some performers coming to the classroom to entertain and educate
the students on February 8. Hopefully, this will be a way to compensate for
missing the festival. Something new to look forward to could help!
I hope that everyone can get outside this weekend to enjoy the milder
weather. Have a wonderful weekend!
Valentine’s Day: We are planning on having a “low key” Valentine’s Day this
year. We will not have a party, however, we will exchange Valentines and do a
craft or two! A class list was sent home in your child’s Friday Folder. If your
child chooses to participate, please address a Valentine to each student in
Home reading: After taking an inventory of books, we have decided to
revamp our home reading program. Students will now bring home one book
per day. Books will be exchanged daily by the students. As always, please
read with your child and record it on the home reading sheet. We will
continue to do our daily “read-to-self” time in class. Thank-you for your
participation in this valuable program!
Library day is every Tuesday. Help your child remember to bring
back their book so they are able to check out a new one.
