Catalog printed by:
In 1989, a group of Fuqua students decided to invite their friends from other top business schools to Durham to enjoy the warm spring weather while raising money for the North Carolina Special Olympics. Since then, the Fuqua MBA Games has evolved into the largest student run event on campus. The proceeds from the annual auction account for almost half of the annual contributions raised by the Duke MBA Games organization. In fact, the annual auction has helped the Duke MBA Games grow to become the largest single fundraising event for North Carolina Special Olympics! For more than three decades Special Olympics North Carolina has helped thousands of young people and adults with mental retardation realize new dreams through sports training and competition. On behalf of the nearly 37,000 athletes who benefit each year from Special Olympics North Carolina, thank you for your generous bids! A very special thanks to: The MBA Games and the Fuqua Partners for their dedication and hard work in organizing the auction. The Fuqua School of Business Fox Center for providing space, fantastic help with the logistics, and of course, the friendly service staff! All of the community businesses, students, partners and Fuqua faculty and staff who donated so many wonderful items and services! And our sponsors,

Silent Auction…
Shhhhhh!
10
How the Silent Auction Works:
1. All items will be displayed on tables in the Winter Garden by 6:00 PM Friday. 2. Each item will have a “bid sheet” with a full description of what is being auctioned, its estimated value, the minimum acceptable bid, bid increments and any restrictions placed on the item. 3. To place a bid, put your name, phone number, e-mail, and bid amount on the sheet. Everyone will bid on the same sheet and be able to see all previous and subsequent bids. 4. You must bid in the increments designated for the item. 5. Tables will close in groups starting at 7:30 PM. All tables will close by 8:10 PM. The highest bid on the bid sheet at the time of table closing wins the item. 6. After the tables close, the auction staff will collect the bid sheets and post the winners on the screen in the Fox Center as soon as possible. 7. If you are a winner, please come directly to the checkout tables located near the Donor Wall to pay for your item. You will receive a receipt that will allow you to pick up your items from the auction tables. 8. Keep in mind that you must pay for the item on Friday night before you leave. To make checkout quick and easy, we will accept credit cards, cash or checks.
Good luck and happy bidding!
