AUBERGE DU SOLEIL UNVEILS RENOVATED PRIVATE MAISONS Maisons Showcase The Auberge’s Luxurious New Décor and Amenities, Including A Private Fitness Studio
RUTHERFORD, CALIF. (March 28, 2006) – For more than 20 years, Auberge du Soleil has been the premier destination for discriminating travelers seeking a sophisticated and secluded retreat in the heart of Wine Country. Today, the legendary “Inn of the Sun” unveils two refurbished spacious hillside maisons, bringing to completion a multi-million dollar renovation of Napa Valley’s premier luxury hideaway. The maisons, named Champagne and Loire after the famous regions in France, offer more than 1,800 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, French doors that lead to large trellised terraces with sunken, jetted tubs and sweeping views of the Napa Valley. Both maisons offer spacious master bedrooms with fireplaces and sitting areas and master baths with oversized soaking tubs, steam showers for two, double sinks, dressing vanities and walk-in closets. Graciously appointed living rooms feature fireplaces, sitting areas, dining alcoves and built-in bars. The Champagne maison features two bedrooms, while the Loire maison features one bedroom and a new private fitness studio. Designed by Suzanne Tucker, of San Francisco-based interior design firm Tucker & Marks, the interiors of the maisons are an update of the original design by her mentor Michael Taylor and complement her renovation of the rest of the property last year. The maisons are decorated with luxuriously over-scaled furniture inspired by 1940s pieces at France’s Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc, and richly woven cream matelasse bedcovers accented with persimmon coverlets and bolsters. Made in France exclusively for Auberge du Soleil, the fabric is a copy of a vintage Pierre Frey design that Taylor had used. Cerused hand-stained oak in the rooms and wheat-colored limestone in the bathrooms replace the tile-covered countertops for a rich finish. Thoughtful extra touches abound in the maisons, including two refrigerators each: one stocked with gourmet snacks, and the other for wines, and advanced Nespresso espresso machines in the wet bar area with four different coffee and espresso favors offered. High-tech features include plasma televisions in both sitting areas and master bedrooms and 15-inch LCD flat-panel televisions for viewing from the extra-large soaking tubs in the master bathrooms. DVD players, fax machines, computer printers and complimentary wireless Internet access are also standard. Both maisons feature massage tables for private in-room treatments. - over -

The fitness studio in the Loire maison adds another dimension to the Auberge experience, offering a sanctuary for guests seeking a “retreat within a retreat” at what is already one of the most private luxury getaways in the world. The studio features two 32-inch plasma televisions and media center with library of fitness DVDs. Guests will enjoy state-of-the- art fitness equipment, including Precor elliptical trainers and recumbent bikes with flat screen televisions, as well as a complete set of exercise accessories including balls and stretch bands for core exercises and free weights for strength training. Guests staying in the Loire maison can also enjoy a Jacuzzi and steam shower as well as, upon request, private sessions with a personal trainer en-suite.

Rates for the two private maisons range from $2,800 to $3,500.
