This company profile is meant to further your understanding of our company’s experience and interest in providing
quality Hard Sugar Maple and Canadian Yellow Birch flooring and components.

Finewood Flooring & Lumber Limited was established in 1982 to meet a
demand for high quality, kiln-dried hardwood boards for the furniture/cabinet markets.
By 1984, Finewood was also manufacturing hardwood flooring. Continual solid growth
led Finewood into the trim and moulding markets and by 1987, Finewood was supplying
dimension stock to export markets.

Presently, Finewood provides four sides, tongue and groove hardwood flooring
for residential, sports and industrial floors as well as providing dimension stock to
furniture/cabinet makers, parquet mills, and other wood related industries.

Manufacturing Equipment: Weinig Thrufeed Moulder, Straight-Line Gang Rip, Double
Surface Planer, Lineal-End Profiler and Optimizing Saw.
Green Lumber Storage: 50000 bft capacity covered Air Drying Shed
Drying Equipment: Three 25000 bft Dehumidification Kilns.
Climate Controlled Storage: As maintaining good color and guaranteeing moisture
content is a prerequisite to a good product, we have built climate control areas that
provide heat, dehumidification and ventilation. These storage areas include two storage
rooms with a combined capacity of 125000 bft for our dry lumber and one 125,000 bft
capacity storage room for finished and partially produced products.

Finewood ships 24 - 26 containers per year into the European Market consisting
of plank hardwood flooring and dimension stock of various qualities, sizes and end uses.
Finewood products are sold through Highland Forest Products Ltd. in Dartmouth, N.S.,
Timber Realization Co. in Western Canada, Fat Andy’s Inc. in Portland Maine, Insignia
Hardwood Flooring in Bangor Maine, and Jacob Juergensen Uniwood GmbH in
Hamburg, Germany. We are pleased to say that all of our lumber is cut and graded at
local sawmills, and all manufacturing, packaging and shipping preparation is done at our
plant in Middle River, Cape Breton Island.

Through special attention to storage conditions, drying schedules, machining
tolerances and efficient exporting services, Finewood has established a world wide
reputation for quality that meets and exceeds contract specifications while maintaining
competitive prices. Most of our customers are repeat customers with increasing
demands. These customers expect consistent results and adherence to grading
expectations. With these valued relationships Finewood projects ahead, grades to
meet their demands, and continues to grow with the industry.
