THE FIFTH EDITION OF VINTAGE SELECTION FROM 2 - 6 FEBRUARY 2005 AT THE STAZIONE LEOPOLDA IN FLORENCE HELD CONCURRENTLY WITH PITTI IMMAGINE FILATI
The vintage clothing, accessories and design objects fair. The winter edition of Vintage Selection, the quality vintage clothing, accessories and furnishing items fair, will be held from 2 - 6 February 2005 at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence. This is the fifth edition, now to be held twice yearly, in February and July, and has carved an important niche for itself in the industry’s calendar. Over 12,000 visitors attended last winter’s edition, including collectors, enthusiasts and company stylists. The event’s success is also determined by its strong links with the Pitti Immagine exhibitions, held at the same time. Next February Vintage Selection will coincide with Pitti Immagine Filati (Fortezza da Basso, 2-4 February, 2005.) Vintage Selection offers the best vintage fashion proposals from about 20 prominent Italian and foreign operators: dresses, knits, shoe s, bags, belts, hats, scarves, costume jewelry, military clothing, denim, and sportswear, for men and women. Merchandise dates from the Thirties to the Eighties, either second -hand or dead stock pieces. Haute couture items include including some of the mos t important brands and the biggest names in Italian and European vintage fashion: historical “pieces” by Chanel, Pierre Cardin, Emilio Pucci, Roberta di Camerino, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Gucci... Plus an amusing selection of vintage items for kids, rep resenting Italian children’s fashions from the 60s and 70s. In addition to the vintage items, the event will include two sections directed both to the fashion trade and enthusiasts.

Collections from ten firms producing custom-vintage items: clothing and accessories, tailored or transformed through new techniques or special treatments for direct sale, for both summer and winter.
ID SELECTION . Creations by five young and promising Italian and foreign designers based
on salvaging old clothing and accessories. Their prototypes and designs are mainly intended for clothing manufacturers. At Id Selection: - Sleepwear Vintage . Garments recycled from the duvet and bedding materials. A fun and surreal recoup of dreams. - Use war to love yourself . Recycled parachute is transformed into a lemit-edition women's collection of skirts, dresses, tops and bags. - S.M.OG. Like that almost dust invisible we breathe in the air, the S.M.OG project's aim is to nick, re-clothe and modify classic clothes. The recurring t heme is pants transformed into panta-dresses, panta-weaters, and panta-tops. - Tra(n)sFOR ME . "Concept clothes" that will gradually get people accustomed to dressing with intelligence and their own personality. tra(n)sFOR ME takes the body/garment/motion/space relationship into consideration - Zebra Project . Pedestrian Crosswalks become the stage setting and the moment for thought of a collection-installation of clothes made from recycled materials.

VINTAGE SELECTION is organized by STAZIONE LEOPOLDA srl in cooperation with A.N.G.E.L.O. The event is open to the public from 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Admission is free.
