Pasadena Rodeo Beauty Competitions September 12, 2009 The 2009 Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo Association (PLS&R) is proud to announce their 23rd annual beauty competition on September 12, 2009. Competition winners will have the opportunity to represent the Pasadena Rodeo in parades, festivals and other youth and family events. The competition will be held on the Campbell Hall Stage. The competitions are open to females of all ages from all areas. Proof of age may be required on all age divisions and each contestant under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent/legal guardian present at registration. Variations might be dressy rodeo wear or fancy western shirts, jeans, skirts and accessories. You may wear hats, vests or boots, No guns please. The judges will score the contestants on how they look in the outfits, how it fits them and NOT how ornate it is. The costume alone will not decide the best candidate for high scores. Please, NO State or National Glitzy Pageant Costumes. Modeling will be a “T” shape formation, entering from the middle of the back stage. . As for modeling styles, the contestants may do their choice of western poses on stage. We request that you do not model in pro-am or hi-fashion style. Girls under the age of 5 may be accompanied by an adult on stage. There are TWO Photogenic categories. One will be for Beauty evaluation and the other will be of a Western Wear theme. These pictures must be turned in during your registration the day of competition. Photos should be 5 x 7 or 8 x 10, unframed, with the contestant’s name, age division, and which PHOTOGENIC CATEGORY labeled on the back. We are not responsible for pictures not picked up immediately following the contestant’s crowning ceremony. Dressing rooms are provided near the stage area. Please do not leave any valuables unattended when you depart from that area. No men will be allowed into the dressing room. MODELING: PHOTOGENIC ENTRIES: DRESSING ROOMS: PHOTOGRAPHS: Pictures may be taken as long as it does not interfere with the judges. We will have a photographer take professional pictures of the young ladies during each competition, if you desire. If you would like individual pictures taken by the photographer, you MUST make arrangements with the photographer prior to your age competition. No cameras on Tri-Pods, please. They interfere with the traffic of visitors and guests. Inappropriate conduct by contestants or their supporters will not be tolerated and could result in disqualification. Absolutely no coaching from the audience; please. Under no circumstances will a 2008 Queen be allowed to compete in the 2009 competition unless their age dictates that they can move into an older age division. 2008 Queens will be invited to have a final walk and to crown the 2009 winner of their age category. Judges will be highly qualified in the beauty, arts and talent fields. They request that there be no contact with them before, during and after any competition. Winner and Runners-up will be invited to participate in the 2009 Pasadena Rodeo Parade. Please see www.PasadenaRodeo.com for parade forms. Parade participants will ride in their own vehicle with posters identifying themselves and their titles. Queens and their courts, 5 years and older, will also be featured at least one night of the Rodeo Grand Entry during the October giant rodeo events 2 thru October 10. The Teen Miss and Miss Rodeo Queens will also be invited to represent the Rodeo all year in various community functions. All contestants entering should type their entry form. If your computer cannot retrieve the forms, please re-type the entry and M C Forms, using 14 pica with questions and answers in different fonts or contrasting colors. If you choose to hand-write your application, please do not complain that the M C could not read your handwriting. The forms must be mailed and postmarked by September 9, 2009 with payment included. All entries taken after that date will be charged a $25.00 Late Fee, no exceptions! .NO MONIES will be accepted on the day of the event. The Pasadena Rodeo Association is a 501-C3 non-profit organization and this sponsorship is a deductible expense. If you do get a sponsor, please include the business name on your MC sheet so that they may be properly recognized as your contestant goes on stage. AWARDS AND INFORMATION SCORE SHEETS: Master scores will not be displayed in order to protect the privacy of all contestants. Individual score sheets will be available upon request immediately following each crowning ceremony. The Rodeo Association will NOT mail scores or pictures back to you after the event. Prizes will vary with age and appropriateness, The Queen in each age division will receive a Hat Crown, Satin Wrap Banner, and Lovely rhinestone Crown pin. Winner, 1st & 2nd place will receive Trophies. Modeling winners will be presented a crown pin. Personality winners will be given a Texas rhinestone pin. Western Wear winners will have banner pins. Photogenic and Portfolio winners will receive a Rhinestone Star Pin. This year the Miss Rodeo Queen age division has expanded to “High School Seniors, college students and older.” Any Proof of eligibility might be required. There is a $500.00 Scholarship available to the accredited college of her choice for the contestant that is awarded Miss Pasadena Rodeo Queen. AWARDS: MISS PASADENA RODEO: The Rodeo Pageant does not have an admission fee. We will not be able to have a practice because the Hall is not available until Saturday morning. Therefore, the stage must be set up and decorated at that time.
