General Course Information 1. Course Description: Understanding corporate contracts in the new universe, court systems, administrative 2. Intended Audience Undergraduate students at the University of Bridgeport. 3. Course Objectives Learn the basic understanding of business law and the legal system. n 4. Mode of Instruction 2 part class: First half of class will discuss the particular law learned in the homework and the second part of class will analyze and discuss the case or cases briefed. D. Student Responsibilities
1. Class Participation Is critical, both positively and negatively. Participation is mandatory and no participation will reduce your grade as it extends the burden of your participation to your classmates. 2. 3. Assignments. Are due per class and expected on time. Instructions for Assignments and Papers a. Typed and formatted in Word with a maximum of 12 font size b. Hand-in procedure All work is due at the beginning of class.
4. Late Work First late assignment will receive a ½ letter grade reduction. Second late assignment will receive a full letter grade reduction. Third and later assignments will not be graded, a 0 will be given. 5. Study Hours - 3 hours of outside class time per week at a minimum will be required. 1.5 hours hours preparing your case brief and 1.5 hours of reading. 6. Electronic Devices There will be NO electronic devices allowed in the class such as telephones, computers, electronic dictionaries, pagers, and itouch at any time including exams. The exception is that a computer and projector may be used for your live business plan class presentation. 7. Integrity I have a NO tolerance rule for cheating, plagiarism, collaboration, etc. Note the University policy on the website.
