Experience the thrill of opening a champagne bottle with a Sabre! What better way to open Champagne? Enjoy a seasonal fine dining menu, drink champagne all evening and be entertained by our Jazz Pianist Mark Freedman The Art of Sabrage is becoming ever more popular and is set to grow after stars, like Cameron Diaz in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘What happens in Vegas’, show how much fun it can be. You will be given an expert demonstration before sabraging a bottle yourself. You will then be presented with a certificate and become a Sabreur and a member of the Grims Dyke Caveau. We will follow the same tradition this year by bringing you their most popular works, produced and performed by the redoubtable Grim’s Dyke Opera Company. Gourmet Festive Feast and Wine Tasting

If you prefer fine wine and a relaxed Gourmet menu instead of the disco, then this is for you. Our wine expert will start the evening with a tasting and then discuss the skills of pairing food and wine. Our Head Chef and Head Gardener have done their research and created a traditional menu from the ‘pre-turkey days’. With ingredients from our garden and local suppliers, we have created a gourmet menu that has a traditional and seasonal theme with a few modern twists. Christmas Murder Mystery Dinner

The only mystery at Grim’s Dyke is whodunnit. A ravishing mixture of outrageous plots, twists and turns is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seats as you grapple with obscure clues and a roomful of completely innocent suspects. Grim’s Dyke is the perfect setting for evenings spent unmasking the villain of the piece – you can almost see the events unfolding for real in the house’s rich and varied past. Each Murder Mystery Dinner concludes with prizes for the most accurate (and most inventive!) solutions – case closed!
