YMS - Technical Visit to Shiu Wing Steel Factory – Report On 21 January 2006, the YMS organized a technical visit to Shiu Wing Steel Limited at Tuen Mum, which was attended by 30 members. The visit started with a thorough introduction of the plant system by Mr. Hung in which the background, production progress, advanced welding technology, testing method were presented comprehensively and well received by the members. In advanced welding technology, they applied “Endless Billets Rolling System”. It could weld billets together by the flash welding method and is capable of creating an infinitely long billet that will always subdivide into any length chosen by their customers. The result is improved product quality, uniformity and increased productivity. The members had fruitful discussions during visit and were very delighted to see the production process.
