Wcil* is the trading name of 'Worcestershire Coalition for Independent Living Service User Led Co-operative Limited'
FSA Registration number - 31335R
The Worcestershire Coalition for Independent Living, Wcil, is a Service User Led,
Multi - Stakeholder Co-operative, operating in the fields of social and health care.
Established in 2010 and registered with the Financial Services Authority in 2011, Wcil recruits
individual and corporate partners and members and operates across Worcestershire.
Why become a member? Membership gives you a voice and access to Wcil services and
benefits (see below)
What does it cost to join Wcil? Wcil is a Co-operative and you join by purchasing a share for £1.
As a Co-operative the intention is to re-invest any surpluses into the provision of services and
member benefits which could include dividends. The cost of the individual share purchase is
debited from the dividend account and not collected from you directly.
How do I join? An application form is completed, paper or electronic, which is sent to the
secretary. The secretary will verify membership category, enter your details on our confidential
membership system and issue a membership card/certificate as appropriate. Membership is
overseen by the Co-operative’s Committee.
There are three categories of membership. The first two categories have direct voting through
one member one vote systems with any user led organisation having a named representative to
exercise its vote. The third category has no individual voting powers but can exercise a minority
collective vote.
As a co-operative whenever possible Wcil decisions will be made by consensual processes.
