School of Civil Engineering Industrial Sponsorship Scheme

Through its strong links with national and local companies the School has established an
Undergraduate Industrial Sponsorship Scheme that is able to offer vacation work experience leading
to sponsorship with a company registered in the scheme. Places and awards are competitive, based
on a range of criteria, and the sponsorship would be to a value between £1000 and £2000 per year
payable by the sponsoring company and subject to any conditions imposed by the company.
Companies currently participating in the Scheme include: Balfour Beatty, Haskoning UK, Jacobs
Babtie, Sir Robert McAlpine, The Ringway Group, White Young Green, Scott Wilson and Morrison
Construction. Applications are made and selection is carried out during the first part of each
academic year. Students can apply once they are registered in years 1 or 2 (MEng or BEng) or year
3 (MEng).
