OVERVIEW
The Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) introduces an exciting event tagged the Interior Design Expo, an exhibition of interior design, furniture and accessories. It will be the first international fair of its kind in Lagos and will showcase the latest products and interior trends on furniture, fabric, wall coverings, accessories, lighting, paint finishes and a lot more from all over the world to the discerning Nigerian market. Plans are in top gear to ensure that it is recognized as the leading and most exciting international fair in Africa. Interior Design Expo will be an annual week long event that will feature manufacturers, design companies, galleries, artists and designers with products and services designed for the luxury market. A 3-day seminar will be organized at the end of the fair. This will afford participants the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on interior design, furniture manufacturing, machinery, fabrics, wall coverings, paint finishes. It will also create an avenue for networking. The event will be rounded off with an Award dinner where winners of the “Best of IDAN 2010” established firms as well as emerging talents will be honoured. Over 10,000 visitors comprising high-profile local and international players in the interior industry, top government officials and professionals in different fields are expected at the exhibition.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS Muni Shonibare Chairperson A graduate of the Instituto Per Arte E II Restauro, Florence, Italy, Muni gained valuable experience working as an interior designer for a Kaduna based architectural firm, Habibat Associates before cofounding Avante Garde, a partnership that specialized in developing interior design schemes for residencies, offices and hospitality outfits in Kaduna and Lagos. In 1987, Muni founded Interior Options Ltd, a leading interior design and furniture manufacturing 2 company in Nigeria, which she has grown from a one-room showroom in Kaduna to a 2002m factory, offices and showrooms in Lagos and Abuja employing over 100 people. Interior Options has handled major projects, locally and internationally for clients such as AGIP, Mobil Producing Unlimited, and Hilton Hotels. Muni also runs and manages Ethiniki, an African inspired furniture and accessories company. Titi Ogufere Secretary General Titi Ogufere is the head of the management team of Essential Interiors, an interior design consultancy company that offers a diverse and comprehensive range of consultancy services. Essential Interiors works in conjunction with architects and other design professionals to provide fit-out services for residential apartments and the hospitality sector. Essential Interiors has handled major projects for clients such as Nigerdock, Nigerian Breweries, Delta State Government and Landmark offices. She earned her qualification in Interior Design from the Republic of Ireland. She is the editor of Essential Interiors magazine, an interior design magazine aimed at promoting professional excellence in Interior design and garden design. She runs Nicole Alexander, a Home Accessories store.
Moni Fagbemi Moni Fagbemi is a graduate of social science from the University of Lagos. She worked at a Lagos based interior designing firm, Casafina Nig. Ltd for a year, before jointly setting-up Design Options, which today is ranked as one of the top interior design and furniture manufacturing outfits in Lagos. With a work force of over a hundred, Design Options has an impressive clientele list with names such as Elf Petroleum, KPMG, Conoco Energy and Shell Petroleum Development Company. In 2004, the company was awarded the prestigious Style Award for interior design firms. Moni holds a Diploma Owner Manager Programme (OMP2) from the Lagos Business School.
AnslemTabansi Anslem Tabansi studied law at the University College, London and practiced briefly at the law firm of Bently, Edu and Co. before veering into the field of design. With over 14 years of experience, he is the managing director of Svengali Design Ltd. Svengali offers a comprehensive range of services including furniture design and production, sourcing of furniture, lighting and the fabrication of stainless steel. The company also specializes in commercial office design and provides outfitting services for hotels and resorts through its sister company Tribeca Hotel Concepts Limited and has undertaken major projects for the Central Bank of Nigeria, UAC, Zenon Petroleum, MTN, Dangote Group, Sahara Energy and the state governments of Bayelsa and Cross River. Anslem also holds a Diploma Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from the Lagos Business School. Matthew Eshalomi Matthew Eshalomi is a U.K trained interior designer with work experience at top U.K based interior/construction firms such as Harry Grover Builders, Taylor Woodrow Construction and Oakwood Building Services. His work expertise ranges from strip-out and fit-out services for commercial offices, high street retail outlets and residential apartments. He has handled various projects for Tesco,Tenon Recovery Office, Finsbury Circus and Abbey National Bank.
EkuaTitilayo Abudu Ekua Titilayo Abudu, a lawyer and chartered administrator is the proprietress of Greenwood House School, a private nursery and primary school based in Lagos. Ekua has a passion for music and theatre and as school administrator, she guided the school to several national and international competitions, winning the MUSON music competition three times, first prize for the ballet intermediate category at the Oral Awards and third place at the World Dance Competition. Before co-founding the school in 1995, Ekua was company secretary and head of administration at Melrose Trust Savings and Loans Ltd and worked briefly as head of corporate law at the law firm of George Etomi and Partners where she was also a senior associate. She has several law publications to her credit. Ekua Abudu also holds a Nursery Foundation Teaching Diploma from the London Montessori Centre and has served on the board of several educational institutions such as the FSP Nursery/Primary School (A Nigerian Federal Government project), White Dove School and is a trustee of NISA (Nigerian International School Association). She is also active in several charitable organisations such as The Kwara Well Being Foundation as an education consultant, the International Womens Society where she was chairperson of the Day Nursery and is the current membership Secretary of the Olave Balden Powell Society which founded the Girls Guide. Ekua is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and Musical Society of Nigeria. She has a natural flair for interior design and has been involved in projects in Lagos and Ilorin. Sarah Daniel Sarah Daniel studied Law at the University of London and had a stint in the banking industry before going into interiors and furniture manufacturing. Sarah is an experienced manufacturer of classical furniture, and her passion for exquisite interiors has seen her travel widely all over the world. Sarah established her interior design practice in 1991 and is the managing director of SD Interiors, a company she has transformed into a leader in the interior design industry in Nigeria. The company’s clientele cut across Nigeria and beyond and incude UACN Property Development Company, UNDP, ELF, Mobil Oil, Arewa Group, UPDC Hotels, Sheraton Hotels,Adisan S.A for Germany and private residencies in Nigeria, United Kingdom and France. She is presently studying at the reputable KLC School of Design in the United Kingdom.
Debola Omooba Debola Omooba is an astute business man and a prolific entrepreneur. Trained as a lawyer, he holds an LLB & BL Law degree and he is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has worked with Eleganaza Industries Ltd/Rao Investment & Property Company (the latter is a Subsidiary of the former) as Legal adviser & Head of the chairman's office where he was directly involved in the project management of the multiple luxury and commercial properties constructed, leased and managed by the company. He also has a Law firm called Debola Omooba & Associates, specialized in property law, oil & gas law and Commercial law. His services cover a wide spectrum of clientele Vis; Multinational companies, Property consultants,Banks, Government parastatals, Oil companies and Individuals. He has also had vocational training abroad (in Italy) in designs and manufacturing. He co-owns an Interior Design company in Lagos (INTERIOR SPECIFICS LTD) specialized in contemporary designs for homes and offices includingRenovations and facelift of properties and his company also manufactures furniture for homes and offices. Interior Specifics has handled projects for numerous clients since its inception in 1997 including MTN Nigeria, Globacomm, Union Bank Plc, UBA Plc, Union Capital Plc, FSDH, Delta State Government, Office of the Deputy Governor Of Lagos State, etc and a host of individual clients.
