Rodney P. Hunt President & Chief Executive Officer Rodney P. Hunt is majority owner and co-founder of RS Information Systems, Inc., a mission-oriented business focused on information technology, systems engineering, telecommunications, and scientific services and solutions. Since co-founding RSIS in 1992, Mr. Hunt has led the company through a period of uninterrupted growth, with annual revenues of $363 million in 2005. Its professional staff, now numbering nearly 2,000, supports 100 prime contracts with civilian and defense agencies of the federal government. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hunt's primary focus and responsibilities are in the areas of business development, contracts, finance and administration. Under his guidance, RSIS has developed a culture of contributing time and money nationwide to communities in which RSIS employees live and work. Mr. Hunt holds a dual bachelor of science degree in operations research and industrial engineering (ORIE) from Cornell and George Washington universities. He has 20 years of experience in systems engineering, information management and business development, including three years as marketing director of another small and disadvantaged information technology firm. He also was a senior associate for Booz, Allen Hamilton, where he led the Technical and Engineering Systems Group in support of government and commercial clients. In 2006, Mr. Hunt received the Northern Virginia Urban League Diversity Award for his commitment to diversity in the RSIS workforce and among the company's vendors and small business partners; and Virginia Business magazine named him one of 20 Virginians who transfomed their industry in the past two decades. Last year, U.S. Small Business Administration named him Small Business Champion of the Year for his efforts in helping small businesses -- largely those owned by women and minorities -- crack the highly competitive federal contracting business. In 2004, Mr. Hunt was honored as Executive of the Year in the mid-size company category by Professional Services Council and Washington Technology and named to Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 , a list of 100 leaders who had a substantial impact on the government IT community in 2003. He has been honored as the first recipient of the Parren J. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award, Black Engineer of the Year, and the U.S.Small Business Administration's (SBA) Small Business Person of the Year for the District of Columbia and the Mid-Atlantic Region (Region 3 of the SBA). He also received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for emerging high-technology companies and was a finalist for the KPMG high-technology award. Mr. Hunt also has received New Vision Magazine's first annual Technology Award and the award as Technology Entrepreneur of the Year from Minorities and Women in Business.
