Permission to Carry a Cell Phone or other Electronic Device Contract
In order to carry a cell phone or other electronic device we agree to be governed by this contract.
1. Devices must be kept in the student’s backpack and powered off during the school day or at anytime
the child is on the school property or under the supervision of school personnel or on a field trip.
2. The phone/device will be surrendered immediately upon request to any school employee.
3. The parent and student give the principal, assistant principal or teacher permission to search the call
log, picture gallery, text messages or any other data the phone/device contains.
4. St. Mark School will not be responsible for loss, damage, or theft of any phone/electronic device
brought to school.
Consequences for violating the terms of the contract are:
First offense: The cell phone/device will be confiscated and may be picked up by the parent the
next school day. The child will receive a demerit.
Second offense: The cell phone/device will be confiscated and may be picked up by the parent the next
school day. The child will receive a detention. The privilege to carry a cell phone
will be revoked for the remainder of the school year.
Any subsequent offenses will be punishable with consequences up to and including suspension and
expulsion.
