Task 1: Simulate an Organising Conversation with your Educator

The aim of this task is for you to complete a full simulated organising conversation whilst your
educator observes
1.    Prepare a scenario that includes:
      a.    The occupation the member would hold
      b.    The issue the member would likely have
      c.    The action you want to get commitment to
      d.    A likely objection you frequently encounter

2.   Your educator will observe you and fill out the Task 1 Educator Observation Sheet:
     a.   Questioning skills
     b.   Listening skills
     c.   70:30: listening to talking ratio
     d.   Your ability to build rapport
     e.   Your ability to find out information about the worker
     f.   Your ability to find the issue and then agitate around the issue

Task 2: Practice an Organising Conversation with your Mentor

The aim of this task is for you to complete a full simulated organising conversation with your mentor

member at your target worksite with your mentor observing

Task 4: Simulate an Organising Conversation with your Educator

The aim of this task is for you to complete a full simulated organising conversation whilst your
educator observes.

1.   Your educator will provide a scenario to you. You will fill out the Task 4 Briefing Sheet for
     Scenario

2.   Your educator will assess your ability to apply all aspects of the organising conversation, and fill
     out Task 4 Educator Observation Sheet. It is expected you will be able to:
     a.    Build rapport effectively
     b.    Find a widely felt, deeply felt issue
     c.    Agitate effectively
     d.    Build hope
     e.    Make an ask for commitment
     f.    Handle objections using LEAP
     g.    Inoculate
     h.    Close out the conversation using one of the four forms of closure
