Deloitte & Touche USA LLP Chairman of the Board Sharon L. Allen to Address University of Illinois on Leadership, Integrity and the Changing Business Environment
Champaign, Ill. –March 20, 2006 – Sharon L. Allen, chairman of the board of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services firms, will address the University of Illinois, College of Business, on “Leadership, Integrity and the Changing Business Environment” on March 30. Allen, the first woman chairman of the board of a leading professional services firm, is the school’s 2006 Leighton Lecturer on Ethics and Leadership. Allen is responsible for the governance of an organization with more than $7 billion in annual revenues. She serves major clients including Boeing, Hewlett-Packard and Washington Mutual. Additionally, she is the US representative on the organization’s Global Governance Committee and chairs the firms’ Global Risk Management Committee. A frequent speaker on governance, global commerce and workplace issues, she is currently a member of the President’s Export Council and the Women’s Leadership Board at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. The Leighton Lecture will be held in the Illini Union, Rooms B & C, 1401 West Green St. in Urbana. The lecture starts at 4:15 p.m. and is followed by a reception. The public is invited to attend.
