       “Keeping Doctors Healthy – A European Perspective”

                          11-12th April 2013, Dublin


The Organising Committee and Abstract Review Committee cordially invite submission
of abstracts for oral presentation, a poster or a workshop for the Annual Conference of
the Association for Physician Health in Dublin in April 2013. See www.eaph.eu

Conference Topics include:
   1. Medical Education on Doctors’ health and healthcare (undergraduate,
      postgraduate training, continuing professional development)
   2. Research on Doctors’ health and healthcare (including completed or ongoing
      research, or advanced stage of planning / seeking research partners)
   3. Quality Improvement and Patient Safety in Doctors’ Healthcare (for doctors as
      patients, for patients of doctors and including the impact of medical error)
   4. Services for Doctors
   5. Other topics

Abstract Submissions are split into three categories:
   1. Oral Presentations;
   2. Workshops;
   3. Posters.

Oral presentations
15-30 minutes will be allotted for oral presentations depending on the numbers
accepted for each category and time limitations.

Workshops
Workshops last either 45 or 60 minutes, and should aim to encourage interactive
collaborative learning.

Posters
Poster presenters are also allocated 5 minutes oral presentation within a presentation
session. The required poster format is A1 or A0 in size and in portrait format. Your
poster is to be displayed during the entire duration of the conference, which is from
Thursday morning to Friday afternoon. The organising committee will be present in
order to assist you with mounting your poster. Please note that you are responsible for
having your poster printed and transported to the conference venue.

Abstract Guidelines:
The Abstract Review Committee will select appropriate abstracts according to the
following guidelines where appropriate:
    1. Clarity of aim and conclusions; practicality for implementation.
    2. Relevance to the conference topics
    3. Innovation (regarding aim or topic or methods)
    4. Involve collaborative work in more than one country where possible

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:

   1. Deadline for all submissions: 31st January 2013
   2. All abstracts need to be submitted and presented in English.
   3. Please proofread your work prior to submission as, in case of publishing in the
       conference Book of Abstracts it will be published exactly as submitted.
   4. Do not enter references.
   5. Avoid the use of symbols or abbreviations.
   6. Maximum length: 300 words. Title: maximum 200 characters (incl. spaces).
   7. The abstract is meant to contribute to advancing knowledge in the field of
       medical professionals health and healthcare, briefly stating:
           o Aims(s) and Introduction: indicate purpose of the study or hypothesis
                tested - or aim of workshop.
           o Methods and Results: include study setting, subjects (number and
                type), diagnosis or intervention, statistical analysis where appropriate -
                or organisation of workshop. Present results / outcome as clearly as
                possible or expected result (learning objectives) of a workshop.
           o Conclusions: briefly discuss data and emphasize significance of the
                results – or impact of the information / workshop for daily practice.
   8. Standard abbreviations are accepted in the text. Unusual ones must be
       mentioned in brackets when used for the first time. Do not use abbreviations in
       the title.
   9. Author/ presenters whose abstracts are accepted for presentation must
       register for the conference and pay the registration fee.
   10. Submissions must be sent to the following e-mail address: eaph@icgp.ie

Notification of Abstract status:
Confirmation of acceptance or rejection by the Abstract Review Committee will be
emailed to the corresponding author. Detailed practical information regarding the
presentation will be included in the confirmation. Accepted abstracts will be published
in the Book of Abstracts of the Conference.
All corresponding authors will be notified via e-mail of the decision of the abstract
review committee by 10th February 2013.
