Programme objective

“To encourage and support mechanical engineering graduates and young mechanical engineers to become a member of the Institution and register with the Engineering Council (UK) as a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIMechE)”

p First initiated by YMS in Spring 2005 p Approved by UK in Summer 2005 p Preparation work started in 2006 p Officially launch 3rd November 2006



A supplement to formal training

p The tutorship programme is NOT a replacement of the MPDS or Scheme ‘A’ p It aims at providing opportunities for Associate Members to know other Members in the Institution p It provides a more personal support to guide you towards Membership.

p Provide assistance

help find the right training sources or materials, including links with relevant professional if necessary direct the tutee of their CPD requirements not only in their own field of engineering but a broader knowledge in other field and non-technical subjects.

p After handing in the year-end report each year, tutee will receive a certificate of completion. p Tutors will also receive a certificate of service.
