                                                    High School Scholarship Application

A. Applicant must be a son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, stepson, stepdaughter, step-grandson, or step-granddaughter of an
   honorably discharged Veteran. Proof is required. Include a copy of honorable discharge paper(s) with application.

B. Applicant must also be a son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, stepson, stepdaughter, step-grandson, or step-granddaughter of
   a current member of the Pardeeville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #215 with minimum of three (3) years of membership.

C. The current member of the Pardeeville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #215 must actively support* Auxiliary Unit #215.
     *Examples of actively supporting Auxiliary Unit #215
          1. Attending Meetings
          2. Serve on a Committee
          3. Participate in Special Activities
          4. Serve as an Officer
     These are only a few ways of actively supporting Auxiliary Unit #215

D. Applicant must be a graduating High School Senior.

E. The following must be included with the completed application (Page 2 Only):
   1. High School transcript for seven (7) semesters, which includes grades, credits and attendance.
   2. Seven (7) semesters GPA.
   3. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation:
       a. 1 High School Reference (unrelated)
       b. 1 Non-school Reference (unrelated)
       c. 1 Reference of Applicant’s Choice
   4. Recent photo of applicant for publicity.
   5. Applicant’s written statement (maximum-300 words) which should include:
       a. School/Community/Church involvement
       b. Hobbies and/or activities of interest
       c. Work experience
   6. Applicant’s brief statement (maximum-100 words) which should include:
       a. Career objectives
       b. Why applicant feels he/she should receive the scholarship

F.   It is not necessary to be an “A” student. You can be an average, serious, dedicated, all around type student. You may attend a
     two (2) or four (4) year college or an accredited vocational or trade school.

G. Two-$300.00 Scholarships will be awarded. Each Scholarship will be paid upon starting the second semester after successful
   completion of the first semester of higher learning. Proof of first semester grades and registration for the second semester must be
   furnished to the Auxiliary prior to issuance of the Scholarship. It is the recipient’s responsibility to notify the Auxiliary of his/her
   eligibility.

H. Application must be completed and submitted with all required information to the Chairman of the Auxiliary High School
   Committee * on or before the first of May.

I.   Applications will be reviewed and the recipient(s) chosen by the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee. The recipient(s) will be
     announced and presented a certificate at their Awards Night Program by a Representative of the Auxiliary.
