					                             ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL LOCKER POLICY

                Orange High School can provide students with the opportunity to lease a
                secure locker during their time at Orange High School. The initial number of
                lockers available, in the trial period, will be 80. Additional lockers may be
                purchased in the future if the need arises.

The lockers are made from tough polethylene with the security of a combination padlock.
The school retains a master key for security reasons. The lockers are generously sized
(dimensions 450mm X 380mm X 600mm) and easily fit a large backpack. Details can be

The lockers will be located in several supervised areas within the school grounds

The lockers will be provided under the following terms and conditions:

   Students in Years 9-12 will be invited to apply for the allocation of a locker.
   Lockers will be allocated on a priority basis, taking into consideration the age of the
    students as well as any special circumstances (e.g. medical conditions).
   Senior students will be given the highest priority.
   Decisions will be made by the principal or delegate.
   Students will be placed on a waiting list if all lockers are allocated for a term.
   Lockers will be leased to students at a rate of $20 per term.
   Students can elect the term of their lease (max of 16 terms).
   Fees must be paid upfront at the start of each lease term.
   Students will retain the rights to a locker in accordance with the amount of fees paid.
       i.e. $20 = 1 term; number of terms required X $20 = fee payable.
   Lockers will be reallocated to another student if fees are not paid.
   The lockers remain the property of Orange High School.
   At the completion of a student’s time at Orange High School, the lease contract ceases.
   Students are responsible for the security of their own lockers.
   Orange High School accepts no responsibility for the contents of the lockers.
   Students will use ONLY approved security locks (provided with the lockers)
   Unapproved locks will be removed by the school.
   Two lockers will remain available for students with medical emergencies or exceptional
    circumstances.
   The principal reserves the right to inspect ANY locker.
   Random locker inspections will be conducted to ensure appropriate use.
   The school reserves the right to re-allocate a locker if it is not being used appropriately.
   Fees will be refunded on a pro-rata basis if the student leaves Orange High School before
    their lease expires.
   Lockers must be emptied of their contents at the end of each week.
   All food must be removed from each locker on a daily basis.
 Failure to comply with the terms and conditions may result in the cancellation of the
    lease agreement.

     Any damage to the locker must be reported to the school immediately.
