The meeting of the Elite Toastmaster of Texas A&M Corpus Christi was called to order at
5:15 pm on Monday, October 11, 2010 in UC Swordfish 324 by Liza Wisner.

A. Approval of Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.
B. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed.
C. Summary of Meeting
The toastmaster welcomed guest and provided introduction of toastmasters, provided the
theme of the day and introduced the joke master Deshawna. Toastmaster returned to the
podium to introduce the general evaluator Willma Harvey. Willma explained the role of the
general evaluator and introduced the timer (Lisa Shoelen). The timer explained the use of
the green, yellow and red card to keep time of speakers. The Ah counter (Yolanda Salone)
was introduces and she announced how that she would only count ah’s for every speaker
but only use the bell for the table topics speakers. The Grammarian provided the word of
the day, “Optimistic”. Lastly the General Evaluator introduced the speech evaluators and
returned control to the Toastmaster of the evening. Introduction of speakers. After the
speeches the Table Topics Master- Byron Eakin, his table topics and chosen speakers were

After the table topics, the toastmaster turned control to the General evaluator. Willma called
for reports from Speech evaluators, timer, ah counter and the grammarian and then gave
the general evaluation for the evening. Votes for the best speaker, evaluator and table
topics speaker were collected and counted by Lisa Schoelen and are as follows:

D. New Business- Suggestions for Upcoming Meetings
Starting with this meeting, flyers will be available during the meeting which will provide
news, updated and other notes. It has been clarified that Elite will pay for the membership
of the first 20 (graduate student) applicants, the paperwork has been sent and membership
kits should arrive soon. A local Toastmaster competition will be held at the Aqua Vitae
Toastmasters club at 2726 Holly Road on October 16 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
E. Agenda for Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be held, Monday October 25th from 5:15-6:15pm where we will have
three more speakers give their introductory speeches. Meeting roles have been drawn at
random for the next meeting. This should save time and communication effort between
members. In addition, this will allow members to research their roles and be better
prepared for them.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:30pm by DeShawna McCray. The next meeting will be at
5:15pm on Monday, October 25th in UC Swordfish 324.
