Chapter 8: Cell Reproduction
Cell Cycle
 Only Eukaryotic cells have a CELL
  CYCLE
Cell Cycle

The CELL CYCLE is
 the repeating set of
events in the life of a
 cell.
Cell Cycle
The CELL CYCLE consists
 of INTERPHASE and CELL
 DIVISION.
Cell Cycle= Interphase + Cell
           Division
Cell Cycle: Interphase
 Cells spend most of the cell cycle in
  INTERPHASE.
 Interphase is divided into three
  stages:
 G1 Phase: offspring cells grow to mature
      size
 S Phase: DNA is replicated
 G2 Phase: Growth and preparation for Cell
division (Cell Prepares for Cell Division)
Cell Cycle - Interphase
Cell Cycle: Cell Division

Cell Division = Division
 of the nucleus (mitosis)
 + Division of the
 cytoplasm
 (Cytokinesis)
