FITNESS PILATES 3 week taster
What is this course about?
Fitness Pilates is a disciplined form of exercise that helps to strengthen and tone the body, correcting bad postural habits which lead to various imbalances, muscular and joint pain. Improve your core strength and stability, firm and tone your abdominal muscles, firm your thighs and build poise and physical strength. Learners will benefit from reduced fatigue and stress levels.
What should I be able to do by the end of this course?
Identify key H&S issues relating to Fitness Pilates and maintain a safe working environment. Follow simple step by step instructions to improve posture. Practice basic Fitness Pilates techniques with tutor support. Describe the benefits of stress reduction and enhanced energy levels.
Is this course for me?
To get the best from this course you should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English/including numerical information This taster course is suitable for learners who have no previous experience of Fitness Pilates and who would like to learn and practice the techniques before moving on to the beginners course. Fitness Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels. As with any exercise course you will be asked to complete a thorough health screening questionnaire. It is therefore advisable that you check with your GP should you have any serious medical problems which may impact upon your ability to take part in the practical side of this course.
What equipment will I need?
College mats will be provided but please bring your own if you wish to and wear loose fitting comfortable clothes. Most of the practical work will be done bare foot, soft shoes can be worn if you prefer. Don't forget to bring a water bottle, you will need to keep hydrated.
How will I know how well I am doing?
During the course you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the tutor and you will receive feedback on a one to one basis on how well you are doing. Your progress will be checked using a variety of techniques including observation, question and answer and group discussion.
