For her dedication to those factors, the New Bern Call Center service representative has been named one of three EMBARQ employees receiving the company’s National Customer Service Hero Award. Greene, who this month observes her 40th year with the company, makes a daily onehour commute from Kinston and is “always early,” said her nominating manager, Pennie Neveu. “Nadine has received numerous unsolicited customer commendations and other distinctions over the years, including a President’s Club Award,” Neveu said. “Her enthusiasm is infectious, and just as importantly, she completed the year without a single escalation. That means when a customer reaches Nadine, she ensures their experience is a good one, and that when they hang up, they are satisfied.” During National Customer Service Week Oct. 1-5, EMBARQ recognizes 10 Service Heroes from among 3,000 customer service representatives for going the extra mile to provide outstanding care to local residential customers. From the 10 finalists, a team of executives chose three winners, including Greene, to receive the title of EMBARQ National Service Hero. Awards are presented to the national hero in the Operations, Retail and Solutions groups.
