(Add-on products are described at http://www.emmetropia.com/products.) 95% of product C++ code for 500k DLL is generated from PL/SQL program based on application metadata stored in Oracle9i database. One product performs a transformation of one time series into another and encapsulates the functionality of another dll. The second product contains various tools for analysis of financial market time series pivot turning points.

Developed „Current State Application Data Architecture‟ Poster for the Cisco eLearning Platform. Developed logical and physical data models for two key projects within the eLearning IT Department. Designed and developed database APIs for accessing databases. Developed Object Model in Rational Rose in support of a project to store Customer Profile information in a single enterprise repository. Developing complete Physical Oracle8i Database Design in Oracle Designer based on the Object Model. The database objects being designed include tables, views, constraints, keys, synonyms, sequences, storage definitions, partitions, parallel operations, etc. Physical Database Design includes 80+ tables as the basis for DDL generation. Using Oracle Designer to design and generate customized Table API update Packages and Triggers. Wrote PL/SQL code generator based on application meta data tables that produces code to interface to Oracle Designer generated Table API Packages and Triggers. The activity described above has resulted in moving from Analysis and Design to Development and Implementation of over 70,000 lines of high quality PL/SQL code within 6 months of project start. Application went into production to support Cisco.com website in 2002.



Reverse engineered Financial Derivatives Trading System object model from complex production object-Sybase database application (about 150 "classes"). Developed new UML consistent object model in Designer/2000 and Together/J to meet client requirements. Implemented this object model in Oracle8 database (25-30 tables). Created and converted data for new application database. Designed, developed, deployed database application for the recording of derivatives transactions and calculation of daily cash flows from those transactions. Average dollar volume of these cash flows is $ 750 B per year.



Designed a basic architecture for supporting Business Rule enforcement in Java/Oracle package application ecommerce product for the telecommunications industry related to Customer/Product configuration in Together/J. Business Rule architecture was based on concepts of Ross Method. Led team to develop this basic architecture infrastructure. Reviewed and enhanced existing Java based Object and Oracle database models (about 100 classes) using Together/J and ERWin. Enhancements included specification of object to RDBMS maps where one to one object to relational mappings didn't exist, addition of object Design Patterns where appropriate (Composition and Strategy patterns).



Created, revised, and produced business model documentation. Designed both functional and data elements of the application to be implemented in Oracle 8. Used Oracle 8 facilities and Developer/2000 to build forms accessible from the World Wide Web using Oracle‟s Web Application Server.



Designed deliverable for cross-organization/application interface specification business model. Developed business model in Oracle Designer/2000 for new interface-related business processes. The business model contained industry and SBC Shared Services standard elements (Logical Data Model, Functional Decomposition, Data Flow Diagram, Event Flow, and various association matrices) for requirements specifications. Performed various data modeling and database analysis activities for a customer service related product installation. The deliverables were produced using Oracle Designer/2000 and included Logical Data Models (about 30 entities) reverse engineered from Legacy System non-relational database applications and a de-normalized relational database. Documentation was generated from the project Designer/2000 repository by custom developed PL*SQL.



Led team to define the architecture direction for a large (240 tables, more than 150 stored procedures) Oracle7/Powerbuilder application package product. The scope of the architecture initiative included both logical and physical design partitioning and views, all application object types (i.e., data objects, process objects, etc.), relationships among these objects (e.g., business rule implementation strategy, modular code analysis and design, and development strategy, etc.), and application interface modes (C/S Powerbuilder and Internet Web). Reverse engineered 240-table application package Oracle7 database into Silverrun. Performed comparative analysis of database objects. Conducted performance-tuning analysis of Stored Procedures accessing largest tables. Developed SQL scripts vis-a-vis DBA tables which provide direction to logical modeling reverse engineering effort. Derived logical business model of the application package.



This application was a finalist in 3 of 5 categories in the 1994 Computerworld/Object Management Group Object Application of the Year Awards Program. This application won the award for Best Application That Demonstrates the Cost/Benefit of Using Object Technology.

Conceived of, wrote proposal, developed management presentation about, and developed plan for Bellcore to develop a model (within a CASE product) of the Bellcore (and the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) strategic application architecture for mission critical applications (the OSCA architecture). This design phase architecture has been developed to promote application interoperability in heterogeneous environments in order to promote applicationvendor and application-platform independence. Managed and served as technical lead for the above project. Zachman's ISA framework was enhanced to provide the organizing structure for the project. Fundamental elements of the project included Object Analysis/Design and Information Engineering methodologies and Meta models, the OSF DCE/DME architecture, and other client/server architecture concepts. The CASE tools used in the project include ADW and StP. Specific CASE/design phase deliverables included application interface API structuring (OSCA "contracts"), analysis phase business rule implementation issues within the design phase ("semantic integrity constraint" implementation), etc.



Coordinated the development of and wrote a final version of Schwab's System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodology Information Modeling Techniques and Tools Guide (for the Planning, Business Analysis phases) in a manner consistent with the other portions of Schwab's SDLC methodology including the Schwab corporate meta model and repository direction, CASE product direction (ADW and Bachman/Analyst), and the SDLC Project Planning and Project Work Breakdown Structure.

Designed, managed, and implemented the conceptual framework and strategy for relating Mervyn's Systems Development Life Cycle Methodology (Ernst and Young's Navigator) to KnowledgeWare's ADW CASE product for the complete lifecycle. The project involved the creation of a detailed map of the relationship of the ADW Meta model to the Navigator Meta model. The project was described in a presentation at the 1992 KnowledgeWare User Conference. Designed and managed the development of an Oracle-based system for reporting on Navigator methodology deliverables created in KnowledgeWare's ADW product. Designed an architectural framework for implementing design phase DB2 database access in a consistent manner across applications. This effort included a detailed analysis of business rule types and their implementation within design phase related tools.


