FROM KANSAS TO CAIRO, MIXING IT UP WITH GARRON

Jim Rush, Events Coordinator of Kansas Lottery with one of the lottery’s three mixing drums.

A ticket mixing drum with 2,000 pound capacity is used for an automobile giveaway, at the Kansas State Fair.

Long time client, Kansas Lotter y has recently acquired a third ticket mixing drum from Garron Lotter y Products. The portable drum is used for drawings with a modest pool of entries, such as those performed for retailers. The purchase follows the lottery’s satisfaction with two larger ticket mixing drums. From May through September, Kansas Lottery collects non winning $2.00 “Tough Truck” scratch tickets, for entry into a popular annual drawing conducted on the last day of the State Fair. The coveted prize is a cutting edge Ford; last year, the new Edge crossover was given away.

The winning ticket is drawn from a massive motorized drum supplied by Garron. With 2,000 pound capacity, it measures 5’ x 8’. Due to its enormity, the drum is housed in a lottery building located on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Garron’s industrial sized drums are rugged, with a welded steel tube frame and a steel mixing chamber with panels of either perforated steel or acrylic. Operation is by remote control, and an electronic brake ensures that the door stops to permit the operator easy, safe access to the tickets every time.

A NOTE FROM MICHAEL RUANE, CEO February 14, 2008 Ten years ago, when I acquired the Lottery Products division of Garron Plastics, and established it as a separate entity, our focus was largely on the American market. SPOTLIGHT ON BEST SELLING TITAN SERIES
The popular Titan model is known for its attractive thermoformed mixing chamber. Garron Plastics (once the parent company of Garron Lotter y Products), made high quality museum display cases and a host of other products. Techniques and quality standards applied to the display case fabrication are now used in the manufacture of the Garron product line. Made of 3/4” cast acrylic, the Titan series offers 30% noise reduction and 10 times the durability of competitive products. From an aesthetic standpoint, there are no screws or conspicuous glue joints to detract from the sleek, seamless appearance of the mixing chamber. Winning balls are displayed from left to right, in a horizontal row at the top of the unit. The Titan Gemini (shown at left), offers bonus ball display, directly above the selection tube. The Titan series has grown to include the Titan Double Diamond (bottom left), for games requiring two pools of balls. The first chamber can display up to six winning balls, and the second chamber, one. Built to order, a Titan can be customized to meet operational demands and budget restrictions. The Titan can mix up to 100 balls effectively, and can be built with or without a preview rack. A l l Ti t a n m o d e l s a r e available in manual, remote and fully automatic control.
