Texas Lottery contracted with Garron twice in the third quarter. The lottery sought bids in July, for a large-scale ticket-mixing barrel to be used at the State Fair of Texas in October. Garron was awarded a contract to supply an 8-foot, motorized, steel mixing drum. Following the drum procurement, Texas Lottery evaluated responses to its RFP for gravity pick/ rubber ball equipment. In September, the lottery announced that they had executed a contract with Garron to provide Lotto Texas drawing machines. From three new designs proposed by Garron, the lottery chose the MESA. Two MESA units will replace SHAMROCK equipment provided by Garron 10+ years ago. Garron has also supplied three other standard models to serve various games, and a custom designed 2-chamber machine for the Texas Two Step game. Per Garron’s Sales & Marketing Director, Linda Turner, the record sales volume is a testament to industry-wide due diligence. Turner said, “We relish the opportunity to provide tested technology, current design, and comprehensive support services to our new and long time clients, through these contracts. We attribute our success to the industry’s propensity to responsibly evaluate options and reward the responsive, value oriented supplier.” GARRON CONTRACTED FOR 20+ MACHINES IN SINGLE QUARTER A surge in domestic contracts spiked Garron’s third quarter sales to a record level. Equipment procured by Maryland Lottery, Michigan Lottery and Texas Lottery spans Garron’s drawing machine product line to include single digit, lotto and promotional equipment. Via these contracts, 11 machines will be supplied to the US market. This activity trails an 11-unit order from LAGTECH/National Sports Lottery of Nigeria, for a record number of 20+ machines contracted in a single quarter. Maryland Lottery contracted with Garron for Pick 3 and Pick 4 equipment in July. Garron had responded to the lottery’s advertised bid opportunity with a redesign of the CHESAPEAKE model, which had served Maryland’s single digit games for 12 years; four units have been purchased. This procurement follows Maryland Lottery’s purchase of ﬁve other Garron models to conduct various games. Michigan Lottery also solicited bids for single digit equipment. In September, Garron was awarded a contract to provide equipment to conduct Daily 3 and Daily 4; four machines have been purchased. Garron had previously Veteran Acrylic Fabricator Doug Ward ﬁnishes two Unicorn lotto machines which shipped to PRONÓSTICOS® of MÉXICO in the 2nd quarter. In May, Garron responded to industry demand with a prototype of the fully automatic VISTA. Shortly thereafter, a purchase order was received from the NSL. VISTA The National Sports Lottery of Nigeria (NSL) has recently contracted with Garron for 11 lotto machines, all to be used within Lagos State in a new marketing concept this fall. Delivery will begin in September. With the NSL contract, Garron brings the VISTA, a gravity pick, rubber ball lotto model to market (see below). Per Garron’s CEO, Michael Ruane, “The attractive VISTA model enters the gravity pick drawing machine sector at a competitive price point, with technology proven in our ORBITER model. Our clients tend to be very informed consumers. The value inherent to our fabrication approach, testing and service philosophy appeals to them.” The NSL contract also includes Garron’s popular air mix lotto model, the TITAN, previously supplied to El Dorado Lottery of Nigeria. Outside of Africa, the diamond shaped TITAN has also been supplied to: Commonwealth of Dominica, National Lottery Uzbekistan, and the US lotteries of Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, South Carolina and Texas. Garron has also supplied a Prize Wheel and its Skipjack, Chesapeake, Titan Gemini models to El Dorado Lottery. The VISTA boasts a chamber made of 3/4” cast acrylic, robust enough to withstand the rigorous mixing action of rubber balls; the thicker acrylic also oﬀers s 30% noise reduction and 10 times the durability of competitive products. The model can also be made for table tennis drawing balls. Made to order, a VISTA can be built for any lotto matrix or keno. As shown below, the balls are mixed by means of a turntable, as in Garron’s ORBITER single digit model. Lighting eﬀects are standard. VISTA prototype.
