2005 Inwood House Golf Invitational
October 3, 2005 Westchester Country Club - Rye, New York
Event Co-Chairs: Nick Adamo and Bob Dunn of Cisco Systems, Rob DellaSalle of Merrill Lynch, Joe De Simone of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, David Dusek of Studley, Rami Musallam of ThruPoint

The Event:
On October 3, 2005 Co-Chairs Nick Adamo, Rob DellaSalle, Bob Dunn, Joseph De Simone, David Dusek and Rami Musallam will host the Annual Inwood House Golf Invitational at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York. Funds raised from the event will support Inwood House programs to prevent teen pregnancy and provide family support services for pregnant and parenting teens in foster care. A full day of recreation, dining and entertainment, this successful fundraising event traditionally draws approximately 150 executives from international corporations in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. The event includes practice, lunch, 18 holes of golf and a networking dinner, allowing ample time to relax with colleagues and clients. The Westchester Country Club has two outstanding eighteen hole courses, redesigned by architects William S. Flynn, Joseph Finger, and Rees Jones. This club is host to the PGA Tour's Barclay’s Classic, and has been ranked by Golf Week as one of “America’s 100 Best Classical Courses.” A full day of camaraderie and competition, the Inwood House Golf Invitational provides an opportunity to play an exciting round of golf while networking with colleagues and supporting the young people of Inwood House.

The Beneficiary:
For 175 years, Inwood House has helped countless young women and youth from economically isolated neighborhoods develop the personal assets we all need to become healthy and self-reliant adults. Internationally recognized as a leader and innovator in teen pregnancy prevention, youth development and family support, Inwood House has built a comprehensive continuum of service which supports the positive growth and development of more than 7,500 young people in New York City and New Jersey annually. Innovation is a hallmark of Inwood House’s work. We were among the first to address the connection between poverty and teenage pregnancy; to recognize the importance of reaching boys as well as girls with sexuality education; to bring asset-building prevention counseling programs to the schools; to create supportive foster homes for teen mothers and their babies; and to help teen fathers take on their share of parental responsibilities. Informed by rigorous research and a highly qualified staff, Inwood House consistently produces positive results. All programs take an asset-building approach which helps our young people acquire knowledge, develop their social, analytical and decision-making skills, clarify their values, improve their self-esteem and sense of empowerment, and become stakeholders in their communities. Located in public schools and in the neighborhoods we serve, Inwood House is an integral part of the social fabric of New York City communities. In addition, our research and model programs assist our colleagues in teen pregnancy prevention and youth development across the country. Inwood House believes in and values the potential and promise of all young people, and strives to be a source of hope, guidance and opportunity.
