Kryos Systems Associates Ltd. Application Developer

As an Application Developer at Kryos Systems, my primary responsibilities are to support, maintain, and develop Groupware/workflow applications such as e-business web sites and databases. Specific examples include: City of Calgary Enhanced existing system that handles the approval process of exchange, sale and acquisition of land by The City of Calgary. Enhancements involved better facilitation of multiproperty transactions and improving interface to manage legal documents. Increased the performance of existing Crystal Reports integrated within an in-house application. Performance increases ranged from 3x to 25x. Tools and technologies: Visual Basic, VBA, Crystal Reports, and Lotus Notes running in a Windows NT environment. Precision Drilling Web enabled multiple Lotus Notes databases including phone directory, client listing, policies, job postings and travel information repository. Web-interface allowed employees limited update access to their personal information and search capabilities. Tools and technologies: HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Adobe Photoshop, and Lotus Notes R5 for the web. Habitat for Humanity Website Developed a public website donated by Kryos Systems. The site was built using TitanWEB to be completely maintained in a web browser using web forms. Tools and technologies: HTML, DHTML, TitanWEB, and JavaScript. Veritas DGC Member of a four-person team responsible for the development of a web application for delivering online learning. Browser-based application would allow participants to write marked exams, complete activities, and interact with others through a tips repository and discussion board. Tools and technologies: Lotus Notes R5, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript. Canadian Pacific Railway Established a metrics system in Domino for tracking the efficiency of processing on-line requests for train cars by key customers who were offered this service. Developed an internal web interface for an application which tracked freight loss and damages. The database required a web interface to allow users to interact with the system without requiring the use of the Notes Client. Tools and technologies: Lotus Notes R4.6, HTML, and JavaScript.
TransAlta Development of an inventory tracking system for TransAlta's assets. This was a webenabled notes Lotus Notes application with an Oracle backend. Responsible for the search capabilities on-line and the creation of Crystal Reports to display data in an organized and relevant manner. Tools and technologies: Crystal Reports, and Lotus Notes R5.
