Per Olofsson, Group CEO of ClimateWell is made Commander of Spanish Order, by King Juan Carlos I
Stockholm – November 5th, 2009: His Majesty King Juan Carlos I conferred the grade of Commander of the Spanish Order of Civil Merit (Orden del Mérito Civil) upon Per Olofsson, Group CEO of ClimateWell® , for his contribution to strengthening relations between Sweden and Spain. The order was instituted by King Alfonso XIII, by Royal Decree of 25 June 1926, to reward “the civic virtues of service to the state officials and special services of Spanish citizens and foreigners in the good of the nation.” His Majesty empowered D. Enrique Viguera Rubio, Spanish Ambassador in Sweden, to bestow the Order of Merit upon Per Olofsson. The ceremony took place at the Spanish Embassy in Stockholm on October 29th, 2009. Per Olofsson was nominated in 2007 for the "European of the Year" and "Business Leader of the Year" award by The Economist, in its European Voice publication along with Richard Branson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nicolas Sarkozy, president of France. The ClimateWell® Group sells unique Solar Cooling® solutions, which provide cooling without using electricity, for high end villas, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, office buildings, condos and blocks of flats in the world. Its Spanish operations include the ClimateWell® Demo House, a high end villa displaying the technology, and the first ever Solar Cooling® production plant in the world. The production plan was officially inaugurated by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on September 22nd, 2009. The collaboration between Sweden and Spain leads to economic growth, trade, jobs creation plus allows ClimateWell® to reduce tones of CO2 emissions by delivering its energy efficient products from Spain where the production plant is located.
