CCR&R provides information on financial assistance for child care and referrals to community resources. GARC is a private non-profit organization that serves individuals with varying degrees of mental and/or physical impairments. GARC supports people with developmental disabilities, such as mental retardation, Down Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other disabilities including visual impairment traumatic brain injuries and learning disabilities. The goal is to help clients to be increasingly independent and participate better in every day life by focusing on what individuals CAN do. GARC is actively involved in education, advocacy, rehabilitation, and therapy. A myriad of opportunities are offered through The Workshop, Training Center, and Family support Supported Employment, Residential Services and the Greenhouse. In the Greenhouse, we study, explore, observe, propagate, transplant, bump up plants, plan, prune, and sell plants. Children from birth to 8 years of age are primarily served, with computer services also available to adolescents and young adults. No referral is needed. Lekotek offers a wide range of services for children with disabilities and their families. Many activities involve the use of computers or toys adapted especially for a particular child's needs. Support groups are available for moms, dads, and grandparents. Lekotek also provides consultation and training services for professionals and parents.
