LECTURER (FIXED TERM, HALF TIME) IN HEALTH PROMOTION
The Discipline of Health Promotion invites applications for a three year part-
time Lecturing post to contribute to teaching on the undergraduate medical
degree programme at NUI, Galway. The post holder will have particular
responsibility for the delivery of Public Health and Health Promotion teaching
on the undergraduate medical course, and will have a good understanding of
the field of multidisciplinary public health and its application in practice.
Candidates for this three year part-time position should possess an appropriate
primary and postgraduate qualification relevant to the field of Public Health
and/or Health Promotion and should have excellent teaching, course co-
ordination and research skills.
The Discipline of Health Promotion is a dynamic, multidisciplinary, research
active discipline in the School of Health Sciences, which is responsible for a
range of innovative teaching and research programmes at NUI, Galway. Health
Promotion delivers postgraduate, undergraduate and outreach programmes
across the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences; Arts, Social
Sciences and Celtic Studies; and the College of Science. There is an active
programme of national and international research in place through the Health
Promotion Research Centre, which is designated as a WHO Collaborating

The post is for a 3 year period commencing as soon as possible. However, please note
that the end date of the 3 year contract will not exceed 31st December 2015.
Salary: €40,256 to €56,782 pro rata p.a.
€36,230 to €51,104 pro rata p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from
