             IRWIN ACADEMIC CENTER EXPANDING
In the fall of 2006, the Division of Intercollegiate
Athletics broke ground on the expansion of the Irwin
Academic Services Center. With the great continued sup-
port from the Irwin Family Foundation, this project will
assist student-athletes in many academic areas. The $4.6
million expansion of the Irwin Center will add 11,400
square feet allowing more opportunities for the student-
athletes to achieve their academic goals. Student resource
areas comprised of a presentation room, a new general
study area, individual tutoring and study rooms, and a
computer lab will allow this all to happen. Student-ath-
letes will have more access to computers; better environ-
ments to meet with tutors with less distraction and the
opportunity to have more space to concentrate on the
             academic endeavors.

Illinois golfers attain much of their success during fall tournament play.

During her senior campaign at Illinois, Godfrey ranked second for the Illini
with a 78.25 average. She tallied five top-25 finishes on the season and
matched junior Seul Ki Park with three top-10 finishes. She closed out a solid
career with the fourth-best career stroke average in school history at 78.84.
Godfrey also came up big shortly after wrapping up her UI career, winning the
                            2006 Illinois Women’s Amateur Championship.

In 2005, she was Illinois' top finisher at five tournaments, competing in all 11 tournaments for the Illini,
averaging a team-best 78 strokes and shooting a career-best 71 at the Indiana Invitational.

Godfrey was born April 10, 1984, to Peter and Cynthia Godfrey. She graduated in December with a bach-

Arizona, where she is pursuing a career as a professional golfer.
