The Third Meeting of the Committee of Experts (CEVI) of the Mechanism to Follow Up on Implementation of the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence against Women, “Convention of Belém do Pará” will take place July 18-20, 2007, in the City of Buenos Aires, Republic of Argentina. Accommodations:
The Government of the Republic of Argentina has selected a group of hotels that, due to their characteristics and proximity to Palacio San Martín, are particularly suited to accommodate the Experts. Reservations must be made directly with the hotel.

Air travel:
Roundtrip flights should be reserved with the airlines or travel agencies. International flights to and from Buenos Aires, Argentina arrive and depart from Ezeiza International Airport.

Requirements for entering and exiting the country:
Experts from countries for which visas are required to enter Argentina should apply for visas as soon as possible at the nearest Argentinean embassy or consulate. The airport exit tax for regular passports is US$18.00. Diplomatic passports pay no airport Tax.
6.
Transfer from and to the airport:
Ezeiza International Airport is 40 minutes from the City of Buenos Aires. Taxi transfer services to the hotel are available inside the airport from Manuel Tienda León Company, at a cost of US$30 one way. Buses are also available for US$10.00 one way.

Registration of participants:
Registration will take place at Palacio San Martín, on July 17, from 15:00 to 18:00 hrs and also during the first day of the meeting beginning at 8:30.

Languages:
The work sessions of the Meeting will be conducted in English and Spanish. Simultaneous interpretation services in these languages will be provided.

Communications:
A room with computers with Internet access and phones for local calls will be available to the Experts in Palacio San Martín.

Currency:
Argentina’s currency is the peso. The current exchange rate is $3.06 pesos per US Dollar. International credit cards (American Express, Master Card or Visa) are accepted at most places of business.

Medical Services: Emergency medical care and first aid services will be available at the meeting headquarters.
Weather: During the month of July, the temperature in Buenos Aires varies from cool to cold; from 0 C (32 F) to 16 C (50F).
