The Study
Determine if people would be willing to switch carriers to Cingular to get the iPhone. Determine if Apple would be at a disadvantage by only offering the iPhone through Cingular, and not other carriers. A completely random sample was obtained through social networks such as friendships, colleges and other random contacts.
Qualitative Results
90% of the Respondents have heard of the iPhone. Overall, 50% of the people in our study do not seem to be very pleased with their current provider. 60% would not change their current provider to get an iPhone. Approximately 80% of respondents would pay between $0-400 on the iPhone. Where as the price of the iPhone ranges from $500-600.
