What My Heart Cannot See
By Craig Stellpflug
My arms still seek you in the middle of the night My eyes miss seeing you in the soft morning light My logic knows what my heart doesn't understand As it looks for a rainbow in the colors bland My hands want to touch you but they don't have a clue My lips are still seeking the comfort they once knew My vision is blurry and my eyes don't know why As they're searching for you through the tears that they cry My ears oft hear my voice as I call out your name "She's not here!" Is what the silent echoes proclaim My soul is aching for the scent of your perfume As my lonliness the days and hours consume I try to find you in the places we once went Capturing the memories of the joy we spent Only my logic knows what my heart cannot see That you will not ever be returning to me
