He or she will wrap the aerial silk

The body of the performer should be flexible enough to perform different poses by utilizing the aerial
silk. Aerial dance fabric is the cloth which is used in the aerial silk acrobatic recital. It is also known as the
aerial ribbon, rope, aerial silk, aerial tissue and the aerial fabric. The cloth is made from a soft yet elastic
material known as 2 way polyester Lycra. The performer can slide on it and even stretch it comfortable
with the body movements. Some performers also use chiffon fabric in place of Lycra to have a better
glide.

Even after being a soft material, regular gliding and sliding on the aerial fabric can cause rashes on your
skin. So try to wear a good outfit which can easily slide on the fabric without causing any friction.
Moreover the learner has to use his muscle strength thus causing pain for at least a couple of days. If
you are learning this art in an acrobatics school, then the trainer will also teach you some warm up
exercises to help you curb the pain to a greater extent. All the acrobatics schools organize and take part
in the aerial fabric acrobatics fests, where all the best performers can present their skills and even win
the competitions as well.
