Employee benefits Slimming World provides a range of non-cash benefits in addition to employees’ remuneration package. We’ve outlined these benefits below so that you may be aware of how your total package is made up. If you have any queries about what you may be entitled to please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Human Resources team.  Working at Slimming World The Company offers a fulfilling career with a highly competitive salary, which we maintain within the top tenth percentiles for the local area. Slimming World provides a warm, friendly and productive working environment for all staff regardless of whether you’re based at Head Office or working in the field. Whatever your role, you’ll work alongside like-minded individuals whose aim is to support Consultants in their exceptionally important job of helping members achieve their weight-loss dreams.  Personal development and training Your personal development is extremely important to us and we aim to support you in achieving your full potential whatever your role in the Company. We provide extensive induction and training supplemented by structured and ongoing training and development programmes provided by our team of dedicated training managers with support from our management training consultant and other trusted training associates. All staff agree an annual Personal Development Plan with their line manager as part of their Performance Appraisal each year.  Employee of the year Each June we join together to celebrate our ‘Employee of the Year’ at a stylish and prestigious Awards evening. Nominations are put forward by members of the teams to recognise and acknowledge colleagues for their exemplar contributions to their role, the team, the department and the Company. We invite all employees to attend this important event and to relax and enjoy a sumptuous dinner with after-dinner entertainment. Complimentary coaches are provided.  Group of the year, Consultant, Team & District awards At the June Awards ceremony we also celebrate an array of fabulous achievements in the field including:        District of the Year Team Manager Team Award Team Developer Team Award Consultant Slimmer of the Year Top Target Consultant Group of the Year Special Achievers and Gold-again Consultants  Woman of the year This very special event celebrates the ultimate in achievements when our female slimmer of the year is crowned Woman of the Year. All Consultants and staff from the field and head office are invited to wine, dine and dance the night away at the Company’s expense when we pay our special tributes to the fantastic achievements of our Woman of the Year nominees. This is the highlight of our year and not to be missed!  Annual leave The annual leave year commences on 1 May and employees are entitled to 34 days per year including 8 bank holidays. You can elect to have up to 6 of your annual leave days paid at the end of the financial year as a lump sum.  Company sick pay All employees are entitled to receive 5 days’ paid leave per year (pro rata for part time staff) to cover occasional sickness. Any days or half days that remain untaken at the end of the Company’s financial year will be paid to you as a lump sum.  Food and refreshments Everyone loves our excellent subsidised restaurant where healthy, Food Optimising meals are provided every day. Not that you have to Food Optimise if you don’t wish to! We have a wide range of hot food and a cold salad bar freshly prepared each day by our trained chefs. Complimentary hot and cold beverages, as well as a variety of fresh fruit are available all day, every day.  Fitness centre Get fit with your free membership to Bodytalk, Slimming World’s on-site, state of the art fitness centre which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Bodytalk offers free individual fitness assessments by a qualified fitness instructor and a personalised fitness and training programme.  Hair & beauty salon Pamper yourself at our on-site 5 star Hair & Beauty salon offering a wide range of subsidised hair and beauty treatments, including massage and relaxation therapies, hair extensions, special facial treatments, specialist tanning, sun shower, manicures and pedicures. Employees receive preferential appointments and special offers throughout the year!  Healthsure On your commencement with Slimming World you’ll be registered with Healthsure; our private cash- back plan for medical, dental and optical treatments and a wide range of complementary and preventative therapies. Healthsure also provides a 24 hour Employee Assistance Helpline. Slimming World pays the cost of your subscription including the tax element of this benefit, so that it is completely free of charge to you and your children under the age of 18. Full details of your policy will be sent to you within the first month of your start date.  Hospitalisation and recuperation The Company’s Hospitalisation and Recuperation Policy provides financial support to employees who require hospital treatment and subsequent time off for recuperation. Based on the employee’s length of service, payments are made to cover up to 10 weeks’ sickness absence. A copy of the full policy can be requested from the HR team.  Childcare fees Slimming World pays 50% towards the cost of nursery or crèche fees for children born of staff during employment with the Company. Please contact the HR team for further details of the Childcare Fees Policy.  Busy Bees Childcare vouchers In addition to the Company’s Childcare Fees Policy, we have arranged with Busy Bees Childcare Voucher providers for staff to purchase childcare vouchers via their salary. This means you don’t pay tax or national insurance on the vouchers. You can then pay your child’s carer directly with the vouchers thereby achieving substantial savings. How cool is that!  Family friendly policies Slimming World offers an array of Family Friendly Policies to support employees who are the carers of dependant family members, parents of children born or adopted or who are the legal guardians of children. Our family friendly policies include job-sharing, part-time working, flexed working hours and time off for other family-related issues. Please contact our HR team for further information.  Charitable-giving and fundraising Slimming World takes its corporate social responsibilities extremely seriously and is very supportive of staff fundraising events. Margaret Miles Bramwell set up her own charity called SMILES, which stands for ‘Slimmers Making It a Little Easier for Someone’. SMILES is very dear to our hearts and we actively encourage staff to participate in and help raise funds for children in need especially those from deprived and abused backgrounds. Please let us know if you’re interested in helping at any time.  Stakeholder pension Slimming World offers employees access to a Stakeholder Pension Scheme. Currently this is arranged through a Group Stakeholder Pension Plan with Clerical Medical. As government policy changes on Company pensions we will need to update the current arrangements as necessary and of course update our staff with the latest information on their pension arrangements. If you are interested in joining the Group Clerical Medical Pension Plan please contact our HR team.  Internet access We recognise that the internet is a powerful tool for personal, private and business use and we are happy for staff to use the Company’s internet sensibly and responsibly, taking care to adhere to the Slimming World’s Internet Policy.  Websites You’ll have free access to all our websites including Our World a dedicated website for Consultants packed with Slimming World information and support, Our World Plus, which is dedicated to Team Developers and Managers, bodyOptimise and LifeLineOnline, online services for Group and non-Group members including access to over 1300 Food Optimising recipes and of course Body Magic - the easiest, most effective way to boost your weight loss and be fit for life.  Car parking There is plenty of free parking at Slimming World’s Head Office including dedicated parking spaces for our mums to be!  Party time Bring your little ones to meet Santa at the children’s Christmas party. Adults, you too can let your hair down at the staff Christmas party when we wine, dine and boogie the night away! Join in the fun again at the staff Christmas lunch when everyone is unrecognisable in their fancy dress outfits. We did say you had to have a sense of fun!  Field management bonuses After a period of three months Field Managers, District Managers and Team Managers are eligible to receive bonus payments in accordance with the Company’s Field Management Bonus schemes. Bonuses are paid in addition to salary and calculated on the basis of specific targets being achieved.  Company car District Managers and Senior Managers are allocated a Company car for their work and personal use whilst employed in this position. We ask for evidence of your driver’s licence and that you comply with our Company Car Policy.  Bupa Certain roles in the Company, including District Managers, qualify for BUPA. Slimming World pay for the individual’s single subscription, however, you can add your spouse, partner and/or children at an additional cost to the employee.  Disabled facilities Disabled facilities such as car parking, toilets, lifts and ramp access are available at Head Office. Where reasonable and practical Slimming World will meet any additional specific requirements you may have in order to perform your role.
