Literacy Tip: Don’t just read a story to your child at night—ask them questions about what is being
read. Who are the characters? Where does this story take place? What was the problem and how
was it resolved? What happened first, next, and last?

                                               home! We are now working more with subtraction and have
                                               added the terms “subtract” and “minus” to our vocabulary. The
                                               students are learning what key words to listen for
                                               or to look for as they hear or read a problem
                                               that will help them determine if the problem
       Related Arts                            will be an addition problem or a subtraction
                                               problem. They are also learning to show their
