Successfully managed a web development project to convert an existing visual basic system to web based technology. The system is used internally to track task deliverables needed for on time launch of new portable PC products. The system allows the OEM’s worldwide, instant access to key deliverable issues, reducing the time it takes to get a product to market by 15%. Conceived and spearheaded the web site design used to broadcast new employee retention initiatives via the corporate Intranet. Provided AS/400 methodologies to the development team to interface server-based products with Marcam Manufacturing Management Software. Wrote a custom database procedure to handle information transmitted from remote sites to a Unix database server. The project required knowledge of PC system, Unix operating systems and COBOL. The client saved a half million dollars a year on raw material over stocking.
