Supervised by Joint Economic and Community Development Board Job Qualifications Minimum of a four (4) year degree or equivalent experience in related field. Resident of Marshall County or willing to relocate to Marshall County within six (9) months. Highly motivated self-starter. Experience in grant writing, program coordinating, community development preferred. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft software including Windows, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Demonstrate competency in oral and written communication. Strong human relation skills; proven team member/ team leader skills.
Job Responsibilities Promote the development of Marshall County and all of its communities coordinating marketing, recruiting, programs, meetings, and activities in the areas of residential, retail, commercial and tourism throughout the county. Research and facilitate the preparation and submission of grant proposals in alignment with mission of JECDB. Actively participate in statewide programs and training events and establish appropriate membership affiliations in the area of tourism and community development. Obtain Economic Development certification within five (5) years. Serve as resource for the JECDB. Obtain membership and actively participate in retail organizations such as ICSC. Report annually to the governing bodies of the cities and county.
Desired Outcomes Public Chapter 1101 requirements met Serve as a resource to all the needs of communities and county for the purpose of retail, commercial, industrial and tourism growth, e.g., Main Street, Retail Association, Community Development, and Real Estate Association. Grants written and funds awarded. Criteria for the Three Star program met for Marshall County. Ongoing communication and coordination maintained with Industrial Development Boards within each municipality and Chamber of Commerce.
