1. INTRODUCTION The R1 Access Grid room has a DVD player for use by attendees, which has two main uses. It can interfaced directly with the centre projector for presentations not being sent through Access Grid, or it can be patched into the Video Matrix (responsible for managing the camera/document viewer inputs) to be sent as a video feed to remote groups in an Access Grid conference. 2. BASIC SETUP Make sure the DVD Player is connected to the mains power supply, and that it is turned on. Check to see if the audio cables are connected to the DVD Player as shown in Figure 1.

Turn on the DVD Player by pressing the Power button (Figure 2). Open the disc tray, insert the disc and close the tray. Press Play if it does not automatically start.

3. CONNECTING TO THE CENTRE PROJECTOR Connect the cable which says Centre Projector into the video socket on the back of the DVD Player (Figure 1).
Figure 3 Turn on the centre projector by pressing the Power button (Figure 3). Press the Video button until the video from the DVD Player is projected onto the centre screen (Figure 4).
Figure 4 The audio from the DVD Player is at a fixed level and cannot be changed from Windows. If you need the volume level changed please contact the AG Operator at (+5066). Once you have finished, stop the DVD Player, remove the disc and turn the DVD player off. Switch the projector off by pressing the Power button twice.

4. CONNECTING TO THE ACCESS GRID Connect the cable which says Input 7 into the video socked on the back of the DVD Player (Figure 1).
Figure 5 On the Video Matrix (Figure 5), select 4 on the Output panel and select 7 on the Input panel. This will connect video from the DVD Player to the capture card on the AG Node. Use the display area to confirm that output 4 is connected to input 7 as shown in Figure 6.
Figure 6 If you have the Access Grid Venue Client running, you will see the DVD video as a stream in VIC tools. This stream is being broadcasted to all the users connected to the Virtual Venue (Figure 7).
Figure 7 Once you have finished, stop the DVD Player, remove the disc and turn the DVD Player off. On the Video Matrix, select 4 in the Output panel and select 7 on the Input panel to restore the original Settings.
